1UP rack for the win. I've got the single with an add-on that I can throw on anytime I need to haul more than one bike. Very well made rack and not too heavy to install/uninstall.

Well I'll throw in my .02$ . I have had Thule T2 for several years and it has held up well. Parts for it are readily available if you should break something. I have the base rack and the +2 for hauling 4 bikes which I do a lot as a NICA coach. Also, the +2 works great behind the truck when towing my trailer with no interference issues. I put the base rack on the trailer if I want to haul additional bikes. Here's a couple of pic of the rack in action.

Thanks for the visual. The back up camera is still very usable!

I currently use the Saris Superclamp EX 2-bike. Originally bought it for my GTI since it has the smaller receiver, but it holds solid on the 2" with the adapter. Only issue I have with it is having two bikes of unequal size since the clamps on each side are attached to the same arm, so the bikes have to be pretty close in length otherwise the won't clamp in the proper spots. Saris' new design looks nice though. 1UP is just too ugly looking for me, maybe in black it would like fine, but not at the price.

I prefer Kuat but 1Up outdo be my second choice. I prefer the hitch engagement on the Kuat and I like the convenience of the built in cable lock. It’s not an absolute deterrent but it prevents crimes of convenience.

The special allen key needed to remove the 1up rack along with a lock over where the allen key goes > Built in cable lock on the Kuat.

I believe you mis-understood the previous poster. The Kuat has a hitch lock requiring a key and a cable lock built into the carrier to lock the bicycles.

That’s one of the reasons why I went away from the rack method and just put my bike inside. Don’t need to worry about security. For just one bike it’s a no brainer for me.

Whatever you do, don't get the Yakima Double Down or similar racks. The brackets tend to wander on the bars leading to bikes beating each other up on longer trips. Scuffed up my brand new Trek EX pretty bad on a trip out to South Dakota a few years back. Switched to a Thule T2 Pro cradle system which works much better. Downside is that the rack is pretty heavy and awkward to store.

kuat nv 2.0. I am waiting on the extension to add two more bikes. Can tilt the bikes back so you're still able to use the hatch.

That's the biggest drawback to the Kuat. When you add the 2 bike extension it becomes 80-90lbs but it makes traveling with them so nice.
