Spidertrax Spacers and Anxiety

So I just installed Spidertrax spacers on my 2018 T4R TE. Initially driving it I had a little bit of anxiety haha. At what point does this go away if ever? lol

PS: My ride looks cool enough for the malls now!

I run custom 1.8” spacers to even out my trackwidth with my long travel. 20k miles, 2000 of which during some punishing Offroad driving, not a single issue.

If installed according to the instructions....No worries with Spidertrax.....High quality wheel spacers.

I've had them on my 2015 for 35K miles, and just added them to my 2017 this past weekend.

You should periodically check the torque on them. Set your torque wrench to 75 ft. Lbs. when you check torque so you don’t break the loctite bond. This is assuming you torqued them to the proper 85 ft. Lbs.

Just check them during every tire rotation and you will be good. I have only seen one fail because they had 30k with no checking. Ended up to be a nasty accident while towing a trailer.

Just checked and torque as required

I ran mine for over 60k miles before I sold the truck. No issues ever. Just checked made sure they are still torqued proper when rotating tires.

My dad ran them on his 84 toyota prior to the accident for 5 years no checking. So it just depends. Towing didn't help either plus known issues with the lug nuts on the Dodge.

Something that might be kinda hard to accept - but it really is true - is that having a tire come off isn't really all that chaotic. Is it dangerous? Yes. It could easily jump into oncoming traffic and kill someone. Is it something you should avoid? Absolutely. Now that I've fully qualified what I'm going to say; when it happens - it's pretty common for people to not really even know what happened or not know it happened at all until they see the tire go rolling past and recognize it's theirs. It's not all that much different inside the vehicle from having a flat tire. And most of the time the tire just rolls off to the ditch and stops due to the crown in the road. I'm not a fan of wheel spacers for handling and wheel bearing issues they cause (and I completely understand why places like Australia and some states don't allow them), but a failure usually isn't much different from having a flat tire.

Totally, for fronts I totally agree. For rears the issues are much more negligible.

I had a tire come off on my old BMW one time, and besides a thud, it's not like the vehicle flipped and exploded.
