JBA upper control arms hitting Spring

Have a 2017 4runner with JBA A-Arms, 5100 Bilstiens and ToyTec coils.

My question is, when i have my car jacked up, should my A Arm be contacting the coil at full drop?

I installed everything myself, got Toyota front end Alignment and rides well with no knocking noise over bumps.

When i jacked my car up and suspension is at full drop, A Arm touches the coil.

Is this normal?

No issue on mine. I got the JBAs paired up with an OME suspension

You might need to spin the spring until the UCA lands in the space between coils when the axle is at full droop.

I wish that step to check clearance was included in the lift instructions. It's a lot easier to correct at installation than it is to correct when everything is buttoned up.

As mentioned, make sure the spring is set correctly. Also worth mentioning, did you install the UCAs on the correct side?

Thanks for the reply guys.

The spring is fully seated in the grooved perch on the shock body on the Bilsteins 5100

The JBA UCAs are on the correct side. I'm fairly sure because the brake line bolted in the proper location on the Aarms for both sides.

Tonight ill take the tires off and jack it up take pictures, that might help stop an issue.

Thanks all.

Finally got time to take photos of my setup before and after i jacked it up.

My driver side hits the coil and left side side is a hair away from hitting the coil but i stopped jacking once i hit on the Driver side.

I check to make sure my spring was fully seatedin the spring perch, and the JBA were installed on the correct side.

Are these springs to wide? They are the 521600 from Toytec.

Photos are of driver side: Sorry not sure to change orientation.

UCA's should clear your suspension throughout the whole travel range.. including full droop.

When I installed my KING extended travel suspension on the OEM UCAs I had coil contact at full droop.

After the JBA UCA it clears without issue at all.

You should also reach out to JBA on this. I'm sure they'll help

how wide in inches are your king shocks... with the coil-over included?
I feel like these springs are too wide for the setup. I dont know anyone with these Toytec Coils and JBA arms. Most have Icon or Kings and i have gotten no response from JBA.

I installed my JBAs a month ago and I'm getting bad rub on the drivers side rear wheel well and frame. It only rubs turn hard left in reverse.
The drivers side tire is 1 inch closer to the wheelwell. Taking it back in Monday to have them look at it again.

Bilstein 6112 coilovers with heavy upgraded springs for the bumper
have the 6112s two notches higher on the drivers side to compensate for the driver lean from the battery and fuel tank.

I agree with reaching out to JBA - it wouldn't hurt to reach out to Toytech as well.

Seems like this could be an issue with long struts when used with JBA arms. I saw a photo today of some Dobinsons 574 front struts and the JBA's making contact with the coil at full extension. Those are a little longer than 5100's as well, so there was more contact than was mentioned in this thread already.
@Ultarnr75 any update?

JBA upper control arms hitting Spring

I’m shocked to hear that an aftermarket UCA would hit the springs. Here are some comparison next to Oem. I wonder if I should return mine since I have not yet installed ?

I just forwarded this thread to Marlin from JBA. Perhaps he can comment.

Looks like the OD of the JBAs bushing housing is larger. Might be a better comparison to run the bolt through them next to each other.

I researched them a lot and never found this issue
