So yesterday I went down to the dealer to have them remove it and show me the fabled backing plates the bolts attach to.
The key to removing it is either using brute force (though the torx bolts strip easy so be careful) , or a solvent to loosen the locktite. However, for each pair you have to loosen one, then the one next to it, back and forth slowly as opposed to loosening and completely removing one bolt then tackling the other. The reason for this is that the backing plate has a very small tack weld holding it into place above the headliner and it can be pulled away accidentally if you so much as look at it the wrong way and fall into the abyss. Good luck taking yours off!
I have the delete kit in its place now:
Also, the dealer really tried to screw me on the labor charge for 15 minutes worth of work; $130!!!!! After arguing that I had just bought this Pro from them a month ago they left and returned dropping the charge to $15 flat.... Shysters. Whatever I'm just happy the rack is gone.
Once I was about to load it up and leave I packed it into the back and noticed that it's light as hell. 26lbs total including the crossbars on the scale. Aluminum, not steel, and only rated for 110 lbs. Whatever though, it's sold now.
