I suppose it's time to kick this off.
I'll update this post as things go along...
The 4runner: 2016 Trail with KDSS that I picked up with 50k on it. It was getting some hail dents fixed (I live in Colorado) and I put a deposit down before seeing it.
When I went to pick it up, I found Katskinz leather seats all around along with the worlds stupidest tires. (Seriously meh kelly HTs on wheels that are too wide to run the stock tires on.) When I got home I found a remote start hiding under the dashboard as well, so that was a nice surprise.
Now onto the mods...
6/9:
Electrical:
AGM duracell Group 34R battery - The factory one was getting weak.
Recovery:
First priority was a winch mount.
I opted to get a Warn hidden winch mid bumper. It looks great and didn't have a multi month wait time. (Yup, amazon prime for that thing)
Once mounted I added a Tigershark 9500SR - that's a 9500lb rated winch with synthetic rope. I also tossed on a couple D-Rings up front that I saved from my jeep.
A bit after that, I wired in a Warn wireless winch remote to run it. This has been fantastic, but in a pinch I can also run the wired remote into the winch via the access port.
4/12 Edit:
I keep also keep a pully, spare D-Ring and Tree Saver strap in a Rigid storage box in the back.
Lift:
Fast forward a few months later and I've installed some Fox 2.5 coilovers up front, with JBA control arms and Fox 2.0 external reservoir shocks in the rear along with a set of OME 2895 springs in the rear. It's dialed in for about 2.5 inches of lift.
Protection:
I've started with a steel RCI front skid plate. This has been great for getting through the winter. It'll get more skids as the weather gets better and offroading opens up again. I did add a Fumoto F-103N valve to make changes easier with the skid plate. I also ended up getting a Motivx wrench and drain tool set.
Tires:
For winter I run a set of stock size Blizzaks on a set of Trail wheels.
For summer, I've got a set of 285/70r17 Wildpeaks that are going onto the Fuel wheels that came on the truck. Those have more offset and a wider rim to support the bigger tire size.
5/2 Edit: Added spidertrax WHS007 spacers to all four corners. This took care of my control arm rub.
Fluids:
So far, my oil selection is Castrol Edge 0w20 and bulk orders of Toyota filters.
4/12 Edit: Interior
My Jeep had a black cloth seats and black carpet. I spent alot of time working the hair from my dogs out of it.
We have a couple of large dogs, so I added a Husky cargo mat to the back along with a Raingler upper cargo net. The mat means that I don't worry about dirty paws and the net keeps them off the leather.
6/9 Edit: Added Orange Boxx drivers side molle rack (after modding one of the mounts a bit). Coming soon: Molle bags to store my recovery gear.
8/8 Edit: Added a Rhino rack platform with backbone. My factory rack was leaking (it was removed to do some hail damage work before I bought it) so I figured I'd upgrade the roof rack and deal with the leak at the same time.
