The Curt Echo works great. Have had zero issues with it.

Another endorsement for the Curt Echo. Although I didn’t use it on my 4Runner, I put it on my X5 and towed a 5000# trailer over 4000 miles last month and it worked flawlessly.

I would never tow a 24ft 4000 lb with a little ass 4 runner. They are just not good tow vehicles especially as you get something over 20 ft and weight above 3500 lbs. Trucks or the larger suv are much better tow rigs. Getting push around by big rigs or the wind sucks on long trips. When I tow a simple single axle trailer up to the mtns in our 4 runner I always wish that I had taken the Tundra. That no torque 4 runner does not like towing anything in the mtns.

I'm towing a Jay Flight SLX 8 263RBS, but it's about 7k pounds. So I can't say it's easy.

"The Jay Flight SLX has really heavy RVs that are hard to tow. I think my particulate filter won't stand it. Although I had a Transcend Xplor 240ML at 7495 lbs, and it was OK. I think my views and conditions have just changed now. And I changed the car.
In 2023, I plan to go on a trip around the US. So I urgently need to decide on a future trailer. I've already read various lists of the best travel trailers, which are compared by different parameters. Now I like the Aurora 32RLTS because it is excellent for traveling together. This year I want to take my GF. Hopefully, Sandy will take 4 months off to make this happen. What do you think about the Aurora 32RLTS?"

CHeaper and safer to just a rent a F250 when you need to tow heavy. I wouldnt trust the 4 Runner with anything near capacity, I dont think its stable, let alone over weighted and say in crosswinds. After owning one for a few years, I do not think they make good tow vehicles unless its like a small utility trailer with low profile roof and low weight.
