NOVA Shops

Hi Fam,

Bought the gibson side exit exhaust but on the limited it's going to hang really low. Lower than I feel comfortable with even for the little bit of off roading I do. So I had an idea. I want to see if I can get the exhaust to exit through the rear side valance on my Limited.

Is it technically possible without being ridiculously expensive, not sure. Installing exhaust, no problem. Cutting body panels, yeah Im not comfortable doing that. I have a good mechanic but what Im looking for is a mechanic or shop that is good with custom work, ie body and mechanics and fabrication/welding.

I live in Sterling and would be willing to travel about 45-60 minutes but would prefer closer if available. Any recommendations?

Thanks
chris

I have used High Tech Auto for my JK lift in the past. They are in Chantilly right across the street from Fair Oaks Dodge (my experience found them to be a lying, scam happy dealership btw).

Anyways.... High Tech was easy to work with and accommodating. Good Google reviews. You should be able to get a discount also. They flooded my mailbox with discounts for a year after my lift install.

Mach V is right down the street from you on Sterling they specialize in Subaru’s but they work on everything and they do some pretty amazing work.

I would recommend talking to Scott at GT Peace Auto in Chantilly. He does phenomenal work and the guys over there are extremely knowledgable. Service was beyond my expectations.

Not 100% sure If they do the type of work you are looking for but it's worth a call.

I've never heard anything bad about Scott @ GT Peace (he's also on the forums here)... There's another Jeep-centric shop in the area, Chaos Fabrication, they seem to have a lot of supporters.

My vote, although outside your radius, would be Apex Overland, it was worth the drive for me to head down there from MD

thanks all for the ideas.

@Anand - yeah apex seems a little far for this. maybe not for something bigger (super charger, locker, etc) but given this is not a high tech request and more of quality and precision of work requirement, i can hopefully find something closer.

And I was honestly hoping I would find that there would be some specialized 4R shops in NOVA.

Expected plenty of Jeep shops. But someone that knows the 4r well and does good work would be golden.

Ive been toying with the idea of cutting my C4 fab bumper to exit the exhaust lol Fr now I just cut it and welded side exhaust but I might eventually play with the idea of running thru the bumper

Yeah that steel bumper is definitely going to smash those pipes if it comes down on a rock...not much give there.

come back with pics if you do it! i'd love to see how it turned out.

AK is the owner of Chaos Fabrication in Winchester and a super friendly guy. The shop is kinda Jeep-centric but I have no doubts they would be able to do pretty much anything to any 4x4.

I had them install the 3" ToyTec lift with SPC UCAs.
Everything went smooth and on time.

Both John(s) are very knowledgeable at the counter....

As expected, the counter is real busy on weekends.
