What have you done to your truck that you regretted? And why do you regret it?
So far for me;
Baby seats in the rear.....
Why? Dimpling the leather.
But in all seriousness, what jave you done that you regretted or dont think it was worth the money or time.

I used some seat protectors for baby seats from Wal-Mart and no dimpling. They are even secure with the seat protectors.

I could see them being useful for camping.
I had rock lights for..rock crawling at night. Thing is, with a 4Runner, you can't see schit out of the cabin so they were pretty redundant. My buddy's jeep had rock lights and half doors. You could lean out and see whats directly around your tires (at least on the drivers side).
If I need lighting for camping around the truck, I'd rather have them on the roof rack.

Drop down fridge slide
As the title says, drop down fridge slide. Although hit makes the fridge easy to access its extremely heavy and takes up a significant amount of space much larger than the fridge itself. For reference, its the clear view easy slide.
Second regret was the goose gear sleeping platform. I have 10" drawers, so extending that to the 60 side of 60/40 split took up a lot of room, didn't have functional/easy storage below it and was too close to the ceiling to comfortably sleep.

If you get a RTT definitely get a hardshell. More aerodynamic and easy to setup and put away. However you're still going to deal with something taking up your roof space and garage parking. Also if you have a dog it's harder to get them up and down.
It's not for everyone and I'd suggest thinking really hard it before shelling out $$$ for one. There's pro's and con's with everything and it's a personal choice.

First thing I tell folks is how much I love mine and how easy it is to travel with. Then I warn them on the major drawbacks. It’s been amazing for me the last three years but I think it’s become a bit of a fad.

My weboost cell phone booster. I thought it would really expand my coverage, but it turns out it's maybe a 5% improvement (even with the big antenna). Helps a little with voice, but barely any benefit with data.

I regret going with half coverage Xpel on my hood.
I picked up the car out of state and in my haste told the shop that I only wanted half coverage (full-bumper, half fenders and hood) to protect the front end for the cross-country drive home. Car was protected w/o issue.
Fast forward a month ago and of course I get a rock chip near the hood scoop which wouldn't have happened if I had sprung to get the whole hood covered.
Will get the complete hood redone and leading edge of the roof covered this Summer.

I’ve owned 5 over the years and I got tired of the weight and rack space being taken up by the tent. They are nice to have but I went back to ground tent and couldn’t be happier. It’s definitely become a fad.

Hmm, I might have to look into something like that. I forget about the infinite modifications for off road vehicles. I was just talking about the rock lights with someone and they said I should just put truck bed lights under since you can pick them up for super cheap.

Really? I have found a lot of improvement with my cell booster. I also have the large antenna.

I got a Yakima rack instead of saving up for a Gobi. Should have waited.

285/70R17 tires: add lots of unsprung weight and no real benefit in low traction scenarios for my uses. Caused a noticeable hit to fuel economy/driving range and acceleration. Should have stayed with 265/70R17.
Sliders: they ended up making it more annoying for me to get in and out of the car (too tall to use them as steps) and I constantly ended up with dirt/muck on my pant legs, I only once lightly hit them while off-roading (so they were unnecessary for me), and they added a lot of weight and changed how the vehicle handled around corners.

I regret getting a TRD Pro, I’ve already swapped out the suspension and I have off-road bumpers coming. Could have saved some $ and gotten a different model and built it up. I thought to myself I would buy a TRD pro and not mod but I’ve modded all my cars prior haha

I regret not buying my 4Runner sooner. I've had a few in the past and recently got back into one. Didn't realize how much I missed it until it sat in my driveway again. I paid about $35K for my 2018 ORP and can't think of a single vehicle in the $50-60K range I'd trade it for. That is real owner satisfaction if you ask me.
