Inverter or outlet?

After trying to use the factory outlet in the rear to charge some batteries for my camera, and having it not do anything, I thought about installing an aftermarket outlet with heavy gauge wire to do it. I guess I’ll need an inverter too? (I have no idea how this would work)

Then I thought about just buying an inverter that you plug into the cigarette lighter. I could get a 300w one for $30.

What would be the best way to do this?

I added another outlet with thicker gauge wiring to the 2nd battery. I don't trust the OEM one for anything drawing more current than a phone charger

If you go this route with 1 battery, make sure whatever your charging does not drain the primary battery. Maybe add a switch somewhere

Get a DC charger for your camera

Also, did you turn on the factory outlet? I can't imagine a camera battery charger pulling too many watts for the factory 120V outlet. What are the charger specs?

You have to turn it on? 🤦🏻*♂️ This is my first time using it. I thought you just plugged it in.

Let’s try this again. 😂

Only works with the key on. There is a switch for the inverter with 2 lights. They are difficult to see and will reset to off when the T4 is off. You have to remember to hit the switch each time you start the T4.

I use mine often for charging and anything that takes less than 100 watts which is about 0.8 amps. If the T4 is running but not in gear it will deliver 400 watts. I have used it a few times for small tools.

We have a new Sienna and there is no switch, it's always on.

Most won't do this, but there is lot of good stuff in it.
