I want to get one of these but cut and reweld the swingout tire carrier to be lower, i dont get why all the options mount the tire so high-- half the reason i even bought my 4runner is because the view out the rear with the window down is so nice

Bump, as I have the same question. Having buyers regret with the full size coastal bumper. Welding went ok but the fitment under the lights and under the back hatch is horrible. I really wish they would have said more about this before I purchased.

I'm worried about this. Do you have any pictures?

My gf backed my TRD Pro into a pole and I need to replace the entire bumper, the Coastal option was less expensive than the body shop quoted me for OEM.

Separately, any thoughts from anyone in having the bumper powdercoated gunmetal on a white 4R? I don't love the black on white look and have been thinking if I had gunmetal wheels, front and rear bumper, and re-did the badging in gunmetal it could look pretty sweet but haven't seen any pictures of gunmetal on white 4Rs.

I didn’t take any pics of mine before I pulled it off to finish welding and get painted which im still in process of. I’d highly recommend getting someone to take pics of theirs with the back hatch open before purchasing.

I had the same concern about the space between the bumper and hatch, but I was able to cut the plastic all the way across in a way that filled in the gap. Basically the plastic under the tail lights and across the top of the bumper is all one piece. A long strip of door edge protector dressed it up nicely and hid my unsteady cut line.

Can Anyone give me any specs on the overall width of the rear bumper, both outside edge and inside edge of the raised portion?
I'm thinking of going with a rear full length swing made by another fabricator and weld it on place of the CO one. I'm looking to see if I can get some numbers for him to make something that has everything I want.
I'm getting ready to place my order with coastal but I don't see anything that shows dimensions of all the pieces. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for this pic. Is this the full height bumper though? I won’t have this option unfortunately because my full height goes up right under tail lights

Are you still selling the bumpers in the US? Are these pre welded and ready to install? And what would the cost be for a steel bumper?

Can anyone chime in on how well this bumper is rated for towing or even at all?

I get that since it is a DIY that Costal Off-Road wouldnt be able to give a direct answer to its towing capacity.

Has anyone tried to tow with it or if I am planning on towing stick a a fully fabricated rear bumper?

Really love this bumper, have been eyeing it since I got my runner last year.

Thats a great point I that I didn't think about at all-- I would hate to have that tire blocking the glorious back window view. Do you have the bumper now and did you do anything about the tire location?

I just ordered one the other day and might try to adjust the mounting location if its simple enough.
