What mods do you wish you had done sooner?
I just got through reading the “What mods do you regret” thread and someone jokingly mentioned a “mods you wish you had done sooner” thread. I searched for that thread but didn’t find one, so I figured I’d start one.
This could help some of us newer guys prioritize mods or find some random mods that you guys found extremely useful.

Tires. Maybe not a true "mod", but wish I would have from day 1 just tossed the Coopers on it, instead of 4 1/2 years later.

Re-agear to 4:56. Maybe not exactly from day one but definitely sooner than I did. (I can't say for certain but probably should have done it when I went to 285/70's. Instead I waited till 285/75's) Made a huge difference in drive ability on and off road.

Agree with re-gear. Would have done much sooner. I put 285/70s on right out of the gate (<1000 miles on my rig) and didn't re-gear until around 18k. Wished I didn't wait that long. Decreased gear finding at highway speeds, returned the power distribution band back towards stock and made the vehicle feel "drivable" as a daily again.

Bought a Land Cruiser instead, lol. I kid but I am also serious, that said, I wish I had gone straight to a proper lift like BP-51's or King's out of the gate. I am always over loaded in the rear whether it be with the dirt bike out back or just a weekends worth of gear in the cargo area and up top on the rack. An adjustable lift and proper weight springs are a must.

My Radflos. Wish I went with them sooner over the 6112s and the 5100s with the weight up front.
The rears leaked after maybe two years and the 6112s didn't feel right with all the front end weight plus 700lb springs and the height I wanted. Plus it was a pain tearing everything down figuring out what height I wanted.
I remember it all felt great though when it was just the lift and no bumper and winch.
The rear springs may be next to see what works best with the Radflos. I hardly have any load back there most times and may go with Dobinson's c59-325 rear springs.
And the 5K HIDs from xenondepot.

I’m debating between Dobinsons lift and 275/70 Wildpeaks first. Did you lift yours before the tires?

Well, if you are going to use it off-pavement there is zero room for debate.
The tires are the only actually required capability upgrade for even mild use, everything else is optional, even for serious (but not sport racing or sport crawling) use.

Not to derail thread, but did you guys really wish you had done a regear after 285/70's? I haven't noticed much issue, but have lighter SCS rims and BFG load C 285/70's. Just curious what your weight setup of wheel tire mod was to make the 285/70's make you want a regear; or even think of regearing at that point.

When I ran 285/70's I didn't think I needed a re-gear either. I knew that the truck was a bit sluggish but it wasn't bad enough to worry about, or so I thought then. At the time I was running lighter than stock rims and very lightweight Duratracs. When I switched to 285/75 Ridge Grapplers I not only picked up 3.5" of circumference but I think more significantly I picked up 11# a tire in weight. Or 44# rotational mass net. That turned the truck into a total dog. So I did the re-gear and wow what a difference.
So bottom line, when I consider what a huge improvement the re-gear was, I think how great it would have been for the first 30,000 miles I had the truck on 285/70's. If I knew then what I know now essentially

Of all my mods, re-gear to 4.56 has made the greatest difference in performance. I went to 285/70's upon delivery of the truck and now run 285/75's. Wish I had done it years ago.
