Depends on what system you’re referring to. Crawl control will run ABS no matter what as that is more of a low speed cruise control and so it uses ABS to modulate speed.

A-trac is an entirely different system and does require some wheel spin in order to intervene.

Crawl Control, Hill-Assist Control, and Downhill Assist Control will almost always activate the ABS; they're designed to keep you going a very slow speed and will modulate the system to maintain that. VsC, ATRAC, and ABS will only kick in when wheel slip and vehicle stability exceeds limits.

Same. I got stuck in some wet sand/mud and it didn’t really do anything except make me sink more. I’ll stick with recovery tracks and a shovel.
