General Grabber ATX opinions

Hi All,
I, like many others here, have picked up a set of TRD Pro wheels at the 40% off sale. I have been spending way too much time thinking about which tires to mount. One of the options that I have zeroed in on is the General Grabber A/TX.
This is a relatively new tire so there are not a lot of reviews out there.
I was hoping to get some unbiased reviews from you 4Runner guys before I pulled the trigger on the install.
I am coming from the stock 20" Yokos on my 2015 Limited so I decided to just run stock size 265/70r17 P rated tires.
Hopefully this thread can be a resource for those looking for info on the Grabber ATX in the future.
I am specifically looking for a snow 3-peak rated, aggressive, yet still quiet on-road. This seems to foot the bill at a reasonable price.
Thoughts?

There's an active discussion going on in the Engine / Tires / Suspension etc. subforum about this tire that you may find helpful.

General Grabber ATX tire

Some of the most popular tires that fit your criteria seem to be the BFGoodrich KO2, General Grabber ATX and the Falken Wildpeak AT3W.

If one of your main concerns is an AT tire that excels in wet and snow conditions, then the ATX is a great choice! I've run them this past winter in very sketchy conditions and they did WAY better than I was expecting. All that siping gives great traction in the white stuff! Has been a great all around tire!

Funny, just hung up from talking to discount tire. Have had the ATX's on for a couple of weeks. First impression was increased road noise, much better ride comfort on city streets, a bit of dip in MPG(<1mpg). I have noticed the eco indicator peaking more often compared to the Dunlops.

However, I have had two issues on my brand new TRDORP with TRD PRO wheels. After these tires went on, I had a pull to the right and also one tire is a making a noise as if it had a flat spot (you can hear it over the natural hum of the tires). Three balances, two side to side and back rotations have resolved the pull issue but not the cupping sound. They are ordering two new-new tires to see if that fixes the problem. Frustrated to say the least! But, looks wise they are fantastic.

Excellent. Thanks for the tip. Good thread. I wish the search bar was a bit more effective. Not sure why that didn't pop up.
