That clip can be flipped to the others side by using a small screwdriver to pry the small retainer up enough to slide the clip out.

I stated before I think it was a cost saver to Toyota.
A pillar and Bag on passenger side is a mirror of the drivers side.

BTW, instead of stacking steel washers for the SRS cavity, I decided to look for some nylon spacers. The best (in my case) I could find were 1" OD-3/8" ID-3/8" thick, shaved down to ~.21" from 3/8" and it made the grip seat better IMHO.

Just got mine in the mail last Friday. Looks like a great quality build - now just need to find time to get the handle from the dealership, and then install.

Thanks @Jasontamu !

I definitely want to install this if i decide to get a 4Runner.

Not sure why Toyota does not do this in the first place.

How much is the bracket shipped to zip code 91914? Also, do you happen to know if anyone has tried this mod on a 2016-19 Tacoma?

(I tried sending you a pm but I think I need more posts before I can do that)

My 2002 F150 had a grip handle here and I used it EVERY time I got into the driver's seat. Every time I get into my 4Runner I wish I had a handle there. WHY WHY WHY did Toyota ditch this on the 5th gen?!

Installed mine this afternoon. Looks perfect and works beautifully. After three trucks with a grip on the A pillar, it’s so nice to have one in the correct spot again. Thanks Jason!!!

My wife has been asking for one of these since day 1 of ownership! Is there any reason it wouldn't work on a 2013 5th generation?
