Did you get the pivots/frame in or anything?

Stoked to see how this will turn out!

If he hasn't, I'll post up some pictures when I get it all in 👍
I finally pulled the trigger and ordered the kit today!

You can get the same amount of travel with a 14" short bodied King shock with a custom shock hoop. Not to mention probably easier to tune as it's a 1:1 movement ratio with the tire. That is, if you have the wheel spacing or axle width to fit the shock.

The cantilever kit looks like a lot of fabrication involved. Cutting off both panhard bar mounts and welding on custom ones. Just as much custom work as cutting into the body and reboxing it in to fit huge shocks or coilovers IMO.

You're correct, you can absolutely obtain the same travel with a longer shock through the cab, since that's what most other SUVs do.
Though it might be difficult to find a decent coil that's that tall. I think trying to fit a coilover/bypass setup would be tough.

I replaced my Tundra that had a full bed cage with the 4Runner so I could have more room on trips.
So punching through the cab and eliminating some of that space wasn't an option for me.
I currently have 3.0 2-tube bypasses in the rear, and had to run spacers to not rub the hoses/reservoirs. So with the cantilever kit it'll be nice to eliminate spacers and not worry about rubbing as well.

The amount of work required for either a longer shock or this cantilever kit is probably about the same.
Though I'll let you know once I actually install it, LOL

Received the kit and decided to have them do the install.

They currently have the 4Runner.
I should have it back in a few weeks here 👍
