Post Suspension install question

So I installed icons front and rear on my car yesterday. I currently had spc uca and 5100 toytec lift. We swapped out suspension following the instructions along with install new ball joints on the UCAs. Took longer than expected so postponed the alignment (didn’t tweak anything to try to “get it close” just put everything back on to get me home.

Before driving home we measured in the parking lot and fronts were at 23.5... ok! Drove home and measured in the street... 25” ok my cv axles look whack so I’m not leaving it like this... got in and turned my wheels back and forth and the car settled back to 23.5... so I’m good? Went around the block came back- back around 24.5... turn wheels again and back to 23.5...

Is the issue is my wheels are not aligned is what’s causing this issue?

I did take my wheel spacers off the wheels too during all of this... don’t think that would matter...

The other thing I notice is when making a unturn after a certain point my steering wheel will Just “fall” like it continues the turn for me... didn’t feel like this before..

Hoping to get the alignment done early next week.

Thoughts?

Get it aligned and make sure everything is right and torqued to spec.

With the steering wheel issue I would definitely say get it aligned first and then see how it acts? Since you gotta do that anyway... that's the easy answer. I can't give you any advice on what exactly it might be, but I will say that after i installed my icon stage 2 lift there was quite a bit of discrepancy in measurements depending on where I was parked. And it was my first adjustable coilovers so I measured a lot. For example, parked at work front left would measure 23.5, then in my drive way the front left would be 24.5. Then maybe 23" if one of my wheels happened to be on a separate slab of concrete than my other wheels. Just different scenarios caused quite the different readings. Once my suspension settled after a few thousand miles and a little offroad (use of the actual shocks and springs) the difference in measurements became where they may be less than 1/2" unless I am parked somewhere that manipulating the vehicle quite a bit. Hope that makes sense, but you definitely don't want to be sitting at 25" with jacked up CV's so just get it aligned and keep a close eye on it.

Thanks for the info. I figured they need to settle... but it’s super weird that the height is high (25) then turn my wheels back and forth and now at 23.5... go around the block - back at 25” turn wheels back to 23.5...

Not sure if something is binding? Everything looks good...

Alignment is on for tomorrow

That is definitely odd that driving around then getting a measurement is 25, and then turning the wheels back and forth brings it down to 23.5. After that alignment, come back, and let us know if that does anything. I will be thinking of what it may could be in the meantime if the alignment doesn't fix it.

any ideas after sleeping on it? If were putting it on a rack just thinking what else could I look at and save time.

The front wheels are pretty positive camber... both look like \----/

Well hit the alignment first. Thought it would be good enough to hold me over until my tires come in because the car tracked fine but hopefully not
