Crawl Control functions but dash icon is flashing

So I just purchased an 18 TRD, when I activate the crawl control it appears to be working but the dash indicator is flashing. The manual states that this is a malfunction in the system. Has anyone experienced this? thanks.

Are you sure its actually working?

When its working you definitely know and feel it.

I tried it once for shits and giggles and felt like the car was falling apart LOL, but its all normal.

If I remember correctly, you have to be in 4 LO to use it. Are you on 4 LO?

^ that.

There's no mistaking when crawl control is active and when it's not

You will only be able to use crawl control in 4lo, are you sure you are in 4lo?

In 4Lo and in drive. I guess i’m assuming it’s working... i can hear a bunch of clatter goin on, it adjusts itself on inclines/declines, it “bounces” in low setting (is that a normal thing?)

Depending on the terrain it can make a lot of noise and have jolts since the ABS is functioning.

There is a thread discussing how this all works.....you might start there.

Try this link for multi-terrain first: What is Multi-terrain select?

It behaves very well on an incline, not so well on level ground and works well but makes noise downhill. I use mine mostly for uphill, slow and rough terrain.
I don't remember any flashing indicators, but there are a few that light up in 4L.

i’m familiar with what it is, how it works, how to activate it. Just concerned if the flashing icon is something i can fix before taking it to the dealer. it’s under warranty but no toyota dealer in minnesota is gonna know anything about crawl control.

If it’s under warranty I’d just bring it in rather than mess with the electronics and systems. If they break it they pay to fix it. You mess it up, and then you pay them to fix it. I’m sure they can figure it out, especially seeing as the system already knows it has a fault.
