KDSS rear just shocks

It’s been 3 years since I did my KDSS lift and so am a little rusty..

Got a King suspension kit to replace my OME kit. Just had shoulder surgery a couple weeks ago, but tearing at the bit to start installing.

Before I bite off more than I should..

Question: on the rear, if just swapping shocks, does the KDSS need to be addressed, or should it be just a simple shock swap?

Loosen the swaybar clamps a little bit. Jack up both rear wheels and use jackstands. Then pick a side and remove a jackstand and use the jack to lower the rear diff all the way down so you can remove/install the shocks easily eye to eye.

simple shock swap, should take an hour or two at most.

simple shock swap. I can do them 20 minutes per side if I've got everything ready. No KDSS fiddling necessary.

Bring a ratchet strap to attach to the frame as a sling to help guide the rod end up to the lower shock mount. Those 2.5's don't compress by hand very easily, especially if you've had a shoulder surgery.

Thanks everyone. Got the rear installed after work. Went at a relaxed pace. Took about and hour half with setting everything up and clean-up. Just took it for a quick run around the block. “Seemed” a bit more planted than the OMEs.

Will plan to attack the front on Sat. But we will see if I overworked the shoulder.. I should know later tonight or tomorrow morning. Lol..
