The $1845 you're seeing taken off is a subtraction for the condition of your 4Runner. I would question them on what they are taking off on your condition rating. Almost $2k seems excessive and it's so subjective dependent on the individual adjuster. There should not be that much unless you have physical damage or something mechanical. The adjuster needs to remember they are condition rating a 9 year old vehicle with over 100k miles, it's not going to be perfect. After hearing that large of a condition hit, it really sounds like they are trying to screw you. You should be getting 1-2k more.
They are subtracting $1845 from all the comparables so that their "adjusted comparable value" renders a lower value. What's even stranger is they are subtracting $2256 from the car with the lowest mileage (67,942)

To add insult they are offering me $1400 for my mountain bike which was on a trailer hitch bike rack. Both were destroyed. My bike MSRP over $4700 but I got a deal and paid less. They are basing on what I paid for the bike minus depreciation. I can't buy a similar bike for $1400 unless I find another used bike in the same condition which there are none anywhere near my state. The bike shop estimate recommended a new replacement bike which is more than i paid for my bike. However, it's lower priced at MSRP.

Like many others are saying, get an experienced attorney and stop discussing here. Let the attorney direct you.

If they are giving you such a hard time on the bike and 4Runner then why don't you call a lawyer? I'm sure you could find one who will write a menacing letter to them for a reasonable fee.

Also, if you are in any way considering keeping the 4Runner to someday sell it then DON'T. Just walk away and take a payout.

That 4Runner even if you fix it will NEVER be the same and it will NEVER be worth anything near private party value. It would have a salvage title and basically be worth a crummy amount compared to one that hadn't been wrecked.

Your truck didn't look built up much at all so why not just walk away?

I spoke with an attorney. He just gave me tips that I am already doing. He's not interested in a case unless there is substantial injury recovery. I'm sore so there is some injury.

I won't take a payout until they consider the $6000 of options my car came with and some upgrades I added to the vehicle.

Everyone I spoke with, including some dealerships, said the first offer will be a low-ball.

Right, they are saying your vehicle is worth $1845 less because of the condition rating of your 4Runner. Basically, they assume the comp is nicer than yours so they take money off the comp price to make your payoff lower. All insurance companies do that. Same with mileage. The vehicle with lower mileage is worth $2256 more than yours, so they subtract it from the comp value (that's why its the largest subtraction). Ask them what they are removing for your condition rating and fight them on that. $1845 is a lot to remove for condition if you don't have something significant wrong with the truck.

My friend had a nice 2010 4runner that someone hit. Hi wife drove over 100mi a day so it had well over 200k miles. He got lowballed but could not fight it because of the high miles. We toyota owners know about miles but the insurance company didnt care. He got screwed.... Fight it

They already subtracted $462 for prior damage to the rear bumper as a condition adjustment. A local dealership told me they should be offering around $2000 more. They sent me the build sheet for my VIN. In that build sheet, I have options that are overlooked by their valuation report.

There is an incredible demand for 4runners in the PNW. In Texas, 4runners are $1000s less for even a trail model. Used Trail models seem to be not available in my state - at least in a reasonable price range

The latest offer due to sending them the build sheet for my car is 21,360.00. The guy at the dealership was right - almost $2000

Looks like a Trek Remedy mountain bike I have. They were $2,700 to $3,000 new, I bought it used for $1,600 and that was 4 years ago.

I suggest you get at least 2 more complete estimates from local body/repair shops. Get suggestions from friends if you don't know any good ones. It's also going to take longer due to parts shortages, so a loaner would be a must. That may be why they want to total the vehicle - that way they don't have to pay for a loaner for (what could be) a couple months or more. In that case, research as to your vehicles true value is important. Seeing a doctor about any injuries is a good idea as well.
