2014+ rear bumper on 2010-2013 SR5?

Got rear ended and need to replace my rear bumper. Want to keep weight down, so sticking to a Toyota plastic fantastic. Hate the chrome on my 2012 SR5 rear bumper. Has anyone swapped out their 2010-2013 rear bumper for a 2014+ SR5 rear bumper? I know I’ll need some additional parts in back for the swap, but I want to make sure there is a proof of concept and that the rear tail lamps work without replacing them as well.

Any of the rear plastic from any of the models and years will work from a tail-lamp perspective.

2014+ rear bumper on 2010-2013 SR5?

I’m planning a limited to trd rear bumper swap and it’s only a few items which you need. I’m sure it’s similar to yours.

What you can do go to the Toyota parts site and compare the two diagrams and part numbers.

You have 5th gen 2010-2013. it looks doable. 2014+ rear bumper on 2010-2013 SR5?

Yes it will fit fine, it’s what I did.

However, your factory part 14 from above does not fit. You’ll need a new one. I have yet to replace it with a proper one. Part 8 doesn’t want to stay attached very well, Gorilla glue worked great. Part 22 also doesn’t clear the hitch very well. I Dremmeled down the offending piece and, again, used Gorilla glue.

If you have the back up sensors you’ll have to disconnect them or drill holes in your new bumper. If you decide to do the former you’ll need to disable it via th dash switch, otherwise it’ll be beeping. I still need to fix that and get rid of that switch.

Hey quick question on this older thread. When you say factory part 14, are you talking from the 2013 model or 2014 model? I am getting ready to try to do a bumper swap from a 2010 Limited to a TRD style bumper. Just like the sleek look. Wanting to do as little mods as possible.

Swap

I completely swapped my 11 sr5, to look like a trail, front and rear bumpers. Super easy.
