Yes. Any position. No problem. A small tire size difference will normally not even be noticeable. It's certainly not ideal. But it won't hurt anything. I've used the oem spare with 285s - you literally can't tell the difference - even at highway speed. That doesn't mean you should just run it like that forever of course. But it's okay for the spare.
