roof rail measurement

I need the measurement from one side of the rail where the screws go into the roof to the other side. I believe its about 42 inches but I need confirmation for a project. I dont have access to my vehicle until 7-13 so I need your help

The front is wider than the rear by several inches. Thus you will need to be more specific on where.

i had no idea it was different from front to back. i thought it would be the same measurement across, all the way down the sides
