TRD rims Will they be able to transfer my TPMS sensors?

I'd like to switch my factory Toyota silver rims on my 2016 SR5 to the matte black TRD rims. I saw that someone on here said they had a problem using the old tpms because of stem length. I have 17" rims now and will be staying with the 17" diameter. Anyone know if this is true about the TPMS? was going to have the dealership transfer the rims but if I have to get new TPMS I will go to discount tire.

Before anyone asks or makes a comment...The parts department at my dealership will sell me the TRD Pro rims for 800 no shipping and install the set with road balancing for 100. Thats cheaper than anyplace I can find on the internet. BUT if I have to get new TPMS that changes the situation, so my question is simply has anyone had experience with the swap and did you have to get different TPMS?

A quick call to your dealership will put your mind at ease so you don't get a different answer from them than us when you show up. Our 2018 TRD OR sensors were transferred to our TRD PRO wheels when the 4R was new. I later had them mount a tire to a new wheel and they broke one of the TPMS sensors, which they replaced.

No beating up here about buying the wheels and having them installed at the dealership, after another shop damaging one of our wheels, I learned the dealership is the same price or even less than some of our local tire shops for tire services.

I don’t think the TPMS sensors are a big deal or expense to the dealers or tire shops. When I recently got new tires at America’s Tires (aka Discount Tires) they installed new sensors even though mine were only a little more than one year old. As it happened, I was unhappy with the new tires after a month so I swapped for a different brand. Once again they put in new sensors. They said sensors can last 4-5 years but they routinely replace them sooner especially when people get new tires or wheels.

Wow, you are right. I never looked it up. Seemed to me the last time I went to discount tire they were like 40 each. Maybe I miss heard or thought they were charging 40 each and not 40 per set. Well I feel dumb now, thanks for the enlightenment.

They will transfer, however they will hit you for a "rebuild kit" for each one, but it's still cheaper than buying 4 new TPMS like I did
