Had them on for a week and they feel great! I ordered the 1.5" rears that are meant for stock to mild lift. Running them with Kings set to 0 preload and stock rear springs.

Pardon my ignorance but is it necessary to upgrade these with a 3" lift? I know it can't hurt to do it but if its not necessary then I wouldn't mind waiting a bit and use the money for another item.

I threw on the Timbren bump stops a few months back and aside from the fronts being difficult to take off initially I really like the way they feel on and off-road. Just enough squish while maintaining stability. They need a few more trips on them but so far I love them!

Which Gen 4Runner do you have? Hoping to find shorter rears for my 5th gen but website only shows the ones for 2”+ lift.
Thanks

Check out these from Sonoran steel. They're a modified Daystar bump stop

That's what I run also. Excellent setup. Keeps close to stock up travel in the rear.

@ bearflorian
I'm running these on a 5th gen. You can check out SDHQ they have the short version for the rears.
Since the last post I have upgraded my rear sprjngs to the Bilstein B12's and the ride feels even better on and off road.

Thanks, I see them now on the SDHQ website but not on toyotabumbstops.com.
And thank you to the others that suggested the Sonnoran Steel option, I will look into them.

what are you guys recommending for the front? currently just running 6112's but when they blow Kings will be installed. Plasticguy bumps? i refuse to lose up travel/change the shock valving by having the bumps in constant contact so timbrens are a no go.

Duro Bumps claim to be stock length is my understanding.
I think that's what you're wanting? I'm not familiar with any other products that are.
I think I have my stock bumps lying around, I'd have to compare to be sure

Here is a photo of the stock vs durobumps. Though the durobumps are taller, they are designed (as claimed) to compress to stock height. I found I haven't lost any noticeable loss in up travel after installing them. Also take a look at the screen still I captured from a video demonstrating the durobumps! see video here around post 30 seconds --> @plastics_guy bumpstops - YouTube

Thanks for chiming in
@ SpeedyKevin
. Saved me from digging through my whole garage. I have made the same observations. Uptravel is the same as OEM however the stop is much softer

cool that's what i was expecting from those ones. a nice progressive bump instead of the rock hard OEM stop lol.
Dirt King Fabrication has a hydraulic bump stop kit for the front end on a stock width setup but they won't be releasing it for a while as they have bigger products they want to get to market first :/
