Install time for OME BP-51 on T4R Off Road w/ KDSS

Hey all,

Newbie here looking for guidance on how many hours of labor should be required to install a set of OME BP-51 and an aftermarket set of UCAs on a new 4runner with KDSS.

Local dealer is quoting me 12 hours which seems quite high compared to past lifts I have had done...but those did not involve KDSS. Also I am getting aftermarket UCAs done at the same time.

The 12 hours also includes a 4-wheel alignment.

Your thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks

Edit: include UCAs

Too Long.

Mine was done in 4 hours.

Alignment I had to take elsewhere but I'm sure it was done in an hour or so. I just left it there all day while I was at work.

Why dealer? Go to a Toyota specialist to get it installed. Where are you located?

Also it took me 12 hours the first time I installed my suspension in a 1 car garage with just floor jacks. Again first ever suspension install I did by myself and even I thought it took me too long. Didn't even have the right tools for some parts of it and still got the job done. A dealer with all the tools, lift, extra hands, and experience should get it done in 4 hours max.

Mainline Overland. They are in Bow, NH which is 1 hour from you. They are Toyota specialists and do a lot of builds. Check out their IG and website. They do great work and have really good rep.

I was quoted 6 hours via the dealer and that's exactly what it ended up being. I had suspension, UCAs, and alignment done all together. Some dealers are hit or miss. Make sure they are KNOWN for doing quality offroad work before you go to them.

Anything more than 7 hours is too much imo , including alignment.

6 hours seems like a good target for anyone that knows what is going on and has access to the proper tools and a lift (just my opinion)

FWIW, I screwed around with the bushing install and balljoint on my UCAs for close to an hour. If you can take care of this yourself [also properly install the bushings and the sleeve] you can shave some install time off.

my initial alignment took almost an hour. I asked for close to 4 degrees of caster, and it took some time. Don't short change them here, especially if they are working to meet your request.
