Switch Pro 9100 Vertical Mounting Solution

So I've been working on a vertical mounting solution for the Switch Pro 9100 and wanted to get some feedback, thoughts, concerns, comments and other input from the community.

This is one version of the Mount Tray by DC Distribution (there are a few versions in the design phase). It is installed on a 2014 Trail Edition (with KDSS, if that matters) See the photo. Note, of course, that the SP9100 is not fully installed as the wires are not there.

It has installed on it a Blue Sea BusBar and Blue Sea terminal block for connection leads to and from the SP9100 and mods that you are connecting to it. It is made from 5052 Aluminum and weighs, as you see it here, just over 2 lbs, with mounting hardware.

I'm already hoping for a version that can accommodate a fuse block and a circuit breaker, but I'm not sure yet. Some topics I'm needing input on are things like:
What else would you want to mount?
From a consumer standpoint, what option would you want available?
Would you want a full package kind of thing? Including the bus and terminal bars with mounting hardware (SP9100 excluded of course), or would you rather go find it yourself?
Would a blank mounting surface be something of interest so you can drill holes yourself ?

Let me know your thoughts.

The vertical mounting of the power module is a warranty requirement from Switch Pro which is why this came up.

Any comments are appreciated.

looks good. but is it possible to consolidate the plate even shorter(less gap between buss bars)? and is it mounted by drilling holes into the car? or is it using oem mounting holes?

Thank you. Yes, the tray is bolt-on using OEM mounting holes. No Drilling.

Right now there is a vertical support at the end of the tray, but there are possibilities for shortening it. Thank you for the suggestion.

The idea around the length, the spacing between the Bus/Terminal Bars and the slot is that when looking at other installs, in my opinion, the connections were almost too tight. They looked pinched up/down and difficult to make the almost 90 degree bend.

I can make any configuration I want, but I do have order minimums for any given set up (20 trays or more). I am happy to accommodate these requests, again if there is enough interest to support it.

Cool stuff! I love seeing owners of our rigs come up with solutions specific to our needs. I've got a 3rd gen and have been looking at getting a switch pro. You working on anything for the 96-02?

Thank you ! If there's enough interest for other Gens, I can see what possibilities there are !

Keep the suggestions coming!

Different Version

I am considering a version that is not quite as wide, but I had come across people that wanted to mount a Blue Sea 12 circuit Fuse Block which this MountTray will fit.

What else would does everybody want to mount in this location with a Switch Pro 9100 ?

I dig this a lot! Smaller than the power trays and exactly what I want, as I really don't need the fuse block. How's the clearance with the hood down? I noticed the top right corner of the SP module is above the fender rail line. I would like it to be a little lower, but if no contact then its all good. I personally like the distance between the hot terminal block and the module, as it allows for a service loop and plenty of room to disconnect the harness from the module should you ever need to. Also, I would run a ten position terminal block to segregate two of the high amp circuits to reduce clutter, but that's just my OCD. Great job, let me know when orders open up!

I like this but would like space for a fuse block. Curious if this would fit an FJ as well? I have the SwitchPro in the FJ, not the 4R.

Thank you for the feedback, The clearance is close, but there's not allot of space in there. I'm not sure if I came across a Blue Sea 10 Terminal. I'll Look. If there's enough interest in that from others I can have a batch made to fit that scenario. Thanks again.

There's a possibility for expansion, but also a blank may be available so people can drill their own mounting holes. Sorry, I do not have FJ fitment requirements however. Possibly in the future should enough people have interest. The width does however fit up to a 12 slot fuse block. Thanks for the feedback.

Do you happen to have any more photos of this tray? Perhaps a shot further back showing more of the engine bay? Thanks in advance.

Hello, yes, I will post up some more pictures. Sorry, been out of town. Exploring the June Lake area by Mammoth. Lots of off road ops out there.

I already have a ARB twin compressor in that space, I wish there was an option for another location.

Can you post a picture of your engine bay with the ARB ? I know things are tight in there. Do you have a SP 9100 ? I'd be interested to see what kind of space is left. Please add what year/model, etc.
