Broken T-Case

Took the wife’s 2010 Limited into our local shop to have the transfer case and both diffs drained and filled. Shop called saying their tech busted the case when we was tightening the drain plug (assuming he wasn’t following torque specs, which concerns me since they had just finished doing the same on my 2012). At first they didn’t want to put her in a vehicle but eventually gave her a shop loaner. They’ve ordered a new case lower and said it should be in tomorrow (this happened a week ago). I like this shop and they’ve always been good to us so I expect this experience to be no different but I’m wondering if there’s anything special outside of obvious leaks we should look out for when we get the vehicle back? It’s a limited AWD if it makes any difference.

As far as leaks go, any leak is a bad one. Unless it's the A/C condensation. Just check it once a week or so for wet spots. My concern would be that if they broke the case just tightening the drain plug, do you really trust them to R&R the transfer case. As well as trusting them to open up the t-case to replace the busted lower half of the case?

No I don’t, but I believe I’m committed.
