I live in SoCal. The ceramic tint most use out here on the windshield is 70-80% and you can’t tell. It does make a big difference, however, when all the windows and windshield are done against heat and UV. I have never heard of anyone getting pulled over with that high of percentage.

Just an update, Progressive replaced the windshield with an OEM Toyota stamped one, installed by Safelite at zero cost and hastle. I was ready to put on a fight when I called progressive/safelite to request OEM glass and they said "okay, no problem. will submit that request"

Work by Safelite was decent, there was some scuff marks that came off with a paint polisher/sealant. The trim was a little popped up on one side but I was able to push that down into it's place. Haven't washed the car so not sure about leaks.. I plan on washing the car tomorrow

Nasty crack on the windshield by the wipers. Is it worth replacing? If so, is OEM worth it?
Happened to me with 72 miles on my odometer. Rock hit kicked up by a truck on a grooved pavement. After a couple of weeks the chip turned into a giant two foot long crack. Had it replaced with factory glass. Now I am at 7,000 and have another chip. The 4Runner is a rock and bug magnet.

Already have tons of rock chips and a singular spot scratch on my windshield.

Only 5,000 miles, and I still love the car, damage and all :-)

Fully agreed on watching them at the shop.
