I agree it is always easier to spend some money after a vendor has gone through and provided a quality install document. I am more adventurous I guess. After having installed a full set of my Brand X LED lights the only issue has been the length of those goofy connectors. Modding those was super easy. All of the rest of the LED boards have been plug and play and I have $300 more to spend on other mods.
I think some of the other "issues" may have been self inflicted by the person attempting the install? They probably should have bought ArcLight products too.

Agreed, so why are you such a rude person and keep calling me names?
Look maybe in school they taught you, you were special. I assure you, your not.
Everybody else can speak without resorting to name calling and revising peoples forum names. But apparently you cant?
Do you think you will make somebody seem angry if you keep calling them that? Kid its called projection, your projecting your own inner rage on the rest of us..hoping that we will what? Get angry over you and your commie Christmas lights?
BTW... some of the posts you quoted, are not actually mine. So try harder my little fruitcake of joy!
Your really quite emotional arent you? I suggest a glass of cranberry juice..perhaps it will help you..or not.
Try not to get so excitable kid, or at least if you have to, try and be funny so at least we can all have a laugh..rather than just read your emotional verbal diarrhea
Meanwhile hows those chicom lights treating you? Have the leds burnt out yet?
Its fitting you chose to illuminate your interior in red. Excellent choice comrade!! Chairman Mao would be proud!
Your thread has stirred me up so much I think im gonna go to Xenondepot or elsewhere and buy some US or EU lights made with UL certified components!
Toodles my new buddy.. message me if you get lonely...

Nice, so somebody busting their $1000 OEM overhead console over an obviously flawed product is their fault and not that the Chinese knockoff company? Given that they copied (i.e. stolen) Arc's design, one would have thought they at least make sure it fits before selling it. Surprise: they didn't. You get what you pay for.
As for Chinese components, so what if Arc uses them? It's one thing for a competitor to come out with a cheaper product with a different design, but it's a completely different story to steal someone's R&D and profit off of it. But of course stealing is a concept you don't understand because you're too busy being in bed with your new Chinese overlord. So do yourself a favor and stop now because you're just digging yourself into a deeper hole with your petty responses.

So you dream up images of other Canadians in drag??? Ouch. Is that what you do on the Internet all day?? You are definitely on the wrong forum.

I see that you enjoy your "I'm a victim" mentality and it really shows too. What happened to your "it's gonna' catch fire argument? Oh wait. You have no proof? Gotcha.

So your whole new argument is that it's OK to support the evil overlord Chinese Communists as long as you launder your money through someone who claims "American Made" and overcharges you for Chinese parts??? Wow. Who would have known....

LOL! Who would actually want an inbox full of their trolling? I'd be perfectly happy if they ceased their off-topic posts in my thread but that is not how trolls operate.

VR the guy has mental issues. Hes unstable..prone to emotional outburts. Likely hes like mid 20s..with some self esteem issues.
He thinks hes funny, but regrettably he isnt...if he was it would be better for the rest of us!
But no, our lonely little fella is just mad at the whole world. Kid you think you have a few of us angry..again your weak projection.
If I and others were even remotely angry you would know it... until then its funnier to just laugh at you and your IP stealing chicom soon to be up in flames truck..
Hopefully they are full of magnesium so you get it nice and hot when they go up in smoke
Still gonna be my stalker?

Oh I'm not bothered. Meme's and calling us names and his childlike behavior are all signs of serious mental issues. Who does that? This thread derailed a long time ago and now the terrible fitment issues are starting to rear it's ugly head that OP believes is self inflicted???
Three guys on this forum, two on facebook including Sevag who's CarTrimHome's #1 sales person, and likely every single person who bought the map light won't be able to get theirs to properly fit unless you perform OP super easy fix. Personally I'd save myself the effort and wait till the next revision comes out if you're really stuck on buying these.
Also, if your interested to see the other developments join the "toyota 4runner 5th gen owners" Facebook group. It's was started by the Aiden James Customs we we all know so well along with Sevag Merdinian who is CarTrimHome's #1 sales person via commissioned sales.
I also found Li's post in that group too for his response to all this madness. Looks like OPs claims about overseas manufacturing and money laundering are completely made up to push his Chinese agenda. Buying from CarTrimHome is closer to money laundering than what Li-young does.

I understand that these may be lesser quality and I don't think anyone disputes that.
My question is, with Arclight's designs.. are they even unique enough to patent or consider IP? I don't think it's that complicated to put together some LED's on a board.
I'm all against China copying IP and making counterfeit clones of stuff, especially if they misrepresent/pretend to be the original manufacture, but spouting off 'but China is bad' seems pretty disingenuous. Most of what we use comes from there, and if they make a cheaper alternative to a product that really isn't that complicated, good for them.
Now if the dude pushing the product here is really associated with that product, that's shitty.

These are not quality pieces but no one is disputing that. I was able to take a look at Arcs boards in person and the fit and finish is quite impressive. My opinion is of course subjective but comparing the two it felt like a Baja Designs light bar vs something you'd get on amazon just by look and feel.
The issue I have is the CarTrimHome leaves you hanging once you purchased them. They sell them as easy to install but there's no install guide so you're left to your own abilities to figure it out. The hatch lights are pretty straight forward, the domes were a bit tricky but still doable. The maps in my opinion was a disaster.
There's some significant disassembly required and without ArcLights install guide it wouldn't have been possible for me. Then there's the fitment issues. CarTrim doesn't fit at all. The oversized bulb plug causes the center lenses to pop out. Also the push button lenses on the overhead console stick with the board installed too. Arc solves this with his own plugs, bracket, and board design which is slightly smaller with different placements with his switches and led blocks.
I'll report back later with some more details. I actually decided to buy the whole kit from arc light on Monday and will do a in-depth review comparing the two.

Thanks for the post aaronRR. I am not affiliated with the Chinese company in any way and my blog has no advertisements whatsoever. I started out just posting the boards were available and looked good for $279 less than ArcLight. For only $66 bucks it seemed easy to take a chance and try them out.
Soon after that the mock troll outrage started before I had even received my order.
The two canuck trolls just want to spread lies about me because I don't roll over for their warped brand of social justice and lies about the product. Multiple times they have claimed the boards absolutely will catch fire and they fervently wish I would die in the fire. Pretty sick people.
In post after post I've proven them wrong and shown them to be liars, even quoting Grug's original crap posts and provided direct links after he denied posting them. Notice he never explained that away, LOL
I have also posted the information with links that even if the ArcLight parts are bought through American distributors the parts can absolutely be traced to Chinese manufacturers who are sources for other shell companies.
ArcLight boards are assembled in the USA but ultimately are 80-90 percent Communist Chinese manufactured parts.
The Chinese boards have no instructions but any decently skilled person can assemble them well. Anyone who whines about the fit and finish is just embracing the tired "I'm a victim" mantra. The only mod is to modify the goofy 194 lamp plugs but geez, it is so easy and it works.
MESSAGE TO ALL NEWBIES TO THE THREAD
If you don't have time to waste with the trolls who trashed the thread I have placed all of the build info and photos in the first message. The info is also on my blog where the trolls can't readily comment.
If anyone has any questions about my install just shoot me a PM!
