About to rustproof undercarriage. Do I need to remove gas skid?

As the title suggests, I am about to apply rustproof to the undercarriage of the 4R. I looked under and saw that the rear has a skid plate wrapping the gas tank. Do I need to remove that to apply rustproof properly--It will be a PITA to remove because I saw at least two bolts that were blocked and would be very hard to get to.

The vehicle is a 19 TRD.

Thanks!

do what you want. It’s not that hard to remove with a swivel adapter.

That being said, whoever rustproofed my truck before I bought it did not remove the skid plate prior to doing so.

When I pulled it after 4 years I was glad I did. I was able to wire wheel and repaint the skid on the backside.
