How to turn off central differential light !?!?

Hey guys I’m really new to this so please bear with me. I have a 2018 Toyota forerunner limited. Today it snowed a lot and I want to put it in four-wheel-drive so I turn the button to H4L

When I did this this orange light came up on my dashboard for what I believe is the differential lock. From my understanding this means I can’t turn my wheels? I don’t know how to turn us off can anybody help me?How to turn off central differential light !?!?-14e9ac49-8668-422d-b263-a9e3f2e1e21d-jpg

Turn it back to H4F and the light should turn off.

I would suggest you take a look at your manual to fully understand how to operate the various drive settings on your new vehicle.

Limited's are full time 4wd, H4F is what you need to leave it in unless you need to lock the center diff.

You need to learn your 4wd system before you break something expensive. Driving on the road in snow just keep it in H4F

Turning the dial back to H4F should get the light to turn back off.

Limited's are full time AWD/4WD, but turning that dial to the H4L position it locks the center diff, putting you in 4x4 mode, this locks the front and rear axles so power is sent 50/50 to each.

Turning the dial further to L4L shifts the transfer case to low range, with the center diff locked, so 4x4 low range gearing, only needed off-road in most cases.

Hey,
I recently purchased a 16 4runner limited and am having difficulties disengaging the centre differential lock.

The electronic knob for the transfer case is selected on H4F, however the center diff lock light is still illuminated. Although it is not flashing (which I assume would indicate a fault in the 4wd system).

I tried Driving back and forth, coasting in neutral to try and get it to unlock, however no luck. I’m unable to drive it right now. I know it is engaged because when I turn, the vehicle slows down and sort of skids (very rough).

I looked underneath the truck and there is some grease/oil splatter on the body from the drive shaft.

Anybody have an idea of what the issue could be? Any information would be helpful, thanks!
