Smile The Best Led lights I have used so far...

Before I go into the review, a fulldisclosure. After seeing reviews online for deautoled I reached out to them asking if they have a low beam projector led that fits a 5thgen 4runner. They mentioned that they have a new one which has not yet been listed on their site but pointed me to a review of the same. I asked them if they have a test unit they could send me which I could test and post a review. They did not, they did however offer me a small discount when I purchased the low beam and their fog light together. And now to the review….

As any 5thgen 4runner owner, I have been desperate to change out the factoryhalogen bulbs on the vehicles. I started with cheap Amazon brands, a few ones were ok but most of them either did not fit, looked extremely bright but the light was all over the place and not usable or both. Even some of the premium ones were disappointing.

DeautoLED low beam

First and foremost, the bulbs feel very premium to me. The next part.. and I was worried about this .. if it was actually going to fit inside the housing and able to close the dust cap. It was a huge relief to see that it fits just fine. The next was the fan noise, so much quieter than the ones I have used before… so much so that I cannot notice it once the hood came down. Finally the light itself… I tested the lights during a road trip and It was just amazing, unlike any other lights I have used before. The light throw was really far, a nicewhite color and a great beam pattern with very less scattering. Overall, this is the best led lights I have ever had… its day and night from the stocklights.

DeautoLED Fog Lights - Dual Color with strobe & flash

Honestly, these were the ones I was most excited about. I am someone who wants to do minimum alterations and keep my vehicle as stock as possible.. call me lazy I was really blown away by the output of the fog lights, the hyperyellow is just stunning.. no way to describe it other than seeing it in person and the way they managed to implement white, yellow, strobe, flashing all by turning fogs on and off is just amazing, its a true plug and play unit without any additional work. Head over to this video that shows the fog lights in various modes.

They were nice enough to throw in a backuplight and rear turn signals for testing and the lights are super bright.. especially the rear turns. Only thing I noticed was the turn lights was a bit long and took me a bit of time to install, other than that it was fine.

Overall, I feel that the quality and the performance of the bulbs are stellar. I can't say how durable they are at this time since I have just had these for a month or so, however they offer a life time warranty which I have never seen with any of the other lights and their customer service team has been super responsive. I am planning on changing out all of the interior bulbs, high beam/daytime runninglights with deautoLED, will update once I have a chance to try them out.

This community has given me so much over the years, a small attempt from my part to give back to the community with this review.

I hope they continue to work well for you; that being said, from my experience with them in the VW world for years, their products are "well" marketed to the forum-informed customer, however, are (re)branded items available from AliExpress sellers.

As an aside, for their color temperature ratings, 4300K isn't your average halogen bulb, that's HID. Halogen is closer to 3400-3700K usually.

Hi Anand, thanks for the response. I specifically bought this up with deautoLED since your post to see what their response was. Here is what they had to say .. " All of our LEDs are manufactured to our specs and not simply bought off the China market. But our advice is always if you feel that way you can buy it from alibaba and see how it works out. We have not seen anything come close to brightness or reliability. "

My thoughts are.. only time will tell how reliable they are, so far the quality of the light, the beam pattern has been amazing. I don't think any of Ali Express sellers offer life time warranty ... so that definitely is a positive

If you go back a handful of years to the VW world, they claimed to have essentially created the H7RC HID bulb -- The H7 is self explanatory, R for shielded (for use with reflector style lights) and C for compact length (to change the focal point of light). There was a substantial premium attached to this; A few minutes of searching showed that while only one or two US-based retailers sold H7RC bulbs, they were plentiful from "foreign" sources (eBay, AliExpress, European tuner shops, etc) at a notably lower price, enough so that you could purchase 3-4 sets of bulbs for the price of a set from DeAutoKey (their name back then, before LEDs became the rage). So while a lifetime warranty is nice, everything comes with a price. Maybe things have changed substantially for the better, previously upon asking them technical questions in regards to model-specific differences and exact specifications of their products the go to answer was something in regards to "the engineers", but no answers were produced.

This post has gone more than a bit sideways, as, bottom line, if it works for you, it works. Just pointing out to the gen pop that doing historical research on a company may be helpful, as $150 for a pair of bulbs isn't chump change, even on $40k trucks

Hi Anand.. looks like you have had some bad experiences with this brand in the past. I hope its ok that I can express freely what my experiences are to this forum without my post being declared as going sideways..

What are the brands you recommend, I am always looking for the next best one

Going sideways meaning I was detracting from your "happy" post, not trying to slow your ability to express your experiences.

As far as brands I can recommend for LEDs -- Morimoto is the first brand that comes to mind, I've had wonderful experiences in a multitude of vehicles over many years with their HID/LED products (or really anything that TheRetrofitSource sells); on a more budget conscious side, I've had great results with the Hikari brand of LEDs from Amazon

The link you posted for the review took me to the tacomaworld forum.
Read through that and it appeared that deauto offered the forum readers a special pricing?

Do you think we could cash in on this discount for 4 Runners?

Its a happy post because I finally got a product that met & exceeded my expectations (exceeded in the case of the fog lights) after trying out a lot of bulbs.. lol.. no other way I can put it....

Thanks for the suggestions - I have had the low beam Morimoto's 2 stroke 2.0's... great lights, best looking when it comes to the color of the light (in my opinion)...the deauto led's felt soo much brighter to me though

haven't tried out the Hikari's but a lot of reviews mention the low beam H11 Hikari's don't fit the 4runner housing... Have you had Hikari's fit well in your 4runner for low beam ?

Thanks for the discussion Anand, I am sure all of us wish that our 40k plus 4runners came with usable headlights... until then the search continues for a stop gap solution.

I got them back in December on a amazon lightning deal for 24.99 so I figured I'd give them a shot and they fit fine for me. I'm very very happy with the light output and color (most specially for 25 bucks)

I've had the Hikari Ultra LED's in my low & high beams, and the "normal" Hikari LEDs in my fogs since the truck was 1 day old, no fitment issues whatsoever. As with GrimReap3r, I've been delighted with their light output... I put a set of the "9600lm" (lets be real, these aren't actual lumen counts, just advertising) Hikari LED's in my girlfriend's car a few months before buying my 4Runner and was delighted with their output, thus prompting me to go up to the Ultra's on my truck to see their output... The low beams alone are great, combined with the LEDs in the high beams and fog lights and it was a ton of light... Since then however, I've added substantially more light to the truck (dual 30" lightbars in the grille, a 40" on the roof, ditch lights, dual LEDs on each side of the roof rack, 4 additional reverse lights, and ground lights), but every bit helps!

Lightbulb Thanks for the support 4RUNNER!

Thanks for the amazing review and contacting our company.

We were excited as many have tried our LEDs in the Toyota even though our site is more geared towards Audi/VW.

We did hear others that contacted us with fitment issues and ours fit and worked better in terms of brightness and light on the road.

For a discount yes we want to offer an intro % if you email [email protected] they will activate it for you.

We want to prove to everyone what we offer and know you will be very happy with the results you see.

We will look into being an advertiser here also as the site looks great and want to prove the LEDs we can offer vs many competitors. For the price being paid you do achieve more light on the road.

Anand - we are not sure what you mean? For saying we are offering alibaba LEDs. That is false. All of our LEDs are made to our specifications and many times outperform other LEDs on the market. Maybe people saw a similar looking LED and thought it was the same but you are not sharing any real testing or proof here which is upsetting because many that have used our LEDs are actually seeing them outperform other LEDs on the market.

Our LEDs are brighter than the hikari and have been tested over and over by customers.

We don't want to flood this review but there are a lot of people contacting us about issues they had with other LEDs and ours were the only one that worked:

The H7RC - we had many people say other models were not as bright, caused glare because not manufactured properly:

Here is 3rd party testing showing our LEDs rank brighter than many on the market:
BulbFacts | Aftermarket LED Kits Chart - Comparing to Halogen in Reflector Headlights & Foglights

We want to add that at the end all we can do is be honest and truthful and promise that what you see online is what you will see in person. We know that there are more popular companies but many are switching after seeing their friends with brighter lighting and happy with the switch so we know you will be too. We hope you give us a chance and see what we can offer vs many competitors.

Thanks
