Baja - feel free to PM me.
They meet SAE fog requirements. They are designed to replace OEM fog lights.

Only if you are talking about the lights that fit into the OE position - not the fender/A pillar mounted lamps.

From the California code - the first one that I had handy. Most states are similar:

24403. (a) A motor vehicle may be equipped with not more than two
foglamps that may be used with, but may not be used in substitution
of, headlamps.
(b) On a motor vehicle other than a motorcycle, the foglamps
authorized under this section shall be mounted on the front at a
height of not less than 12 inches nor more than 30 inches and aimed
so that when the vehicle is not loaded none of the high-intensity
portion of the light to the left of the center of the vehicle
projects higher than a level of four inches below the level of the
center of the lamp from which it comes, for a distance of 25 feet in
front of the vehicle.

And remember that a SAE "approval" means nothing under the law.

lol, the guy with obfuscation in his sig pulls ditch lights out of nowhere in a thread in which that configuration has not been mentioned. In fact it has been very clear through out these are for "fog pockets".

Carry on.

What's the lead time on orders? It's only been a week since I placed my order but I'm trying to plan out time to be able to install them and a few other items I have waiting.

And I'm sure that you've never gotten two threads confused...

I don't think you know what "obfuscate" means.

"Obfuscate- render obscure, unclear, or unintelligible."

ex: cb1111 obfuscated the thread about SAE approved fog lights when he began soapboxing about unrelated laws concerning auxiliary, non road-legal lighting.

Excited these are finally out! Added to "The List".

Might have to change that to "The Ever Growing List".

How well do these fit the 2018-2019 4Runner fogs? It's definitely different than the lower year 5th gens. For example, Morimoto XBs do not fit in 2018-2019 4Runner fogs. They have to be significantly modified to fit properly. I assume BD has tested this? Also who has beam shots other than the marketing photos? I saw a Tundra thread where they looked a little floody.

Thanks for posting those pics. I have an amber S8 behind the grille and was all set on the amber-I think I will go white now, more amber would be overkill.

What's the difference between the squadron and the squadron-R SAE lights? Those look a little high in the photos, do they have a good low cutoff?

good cut off? Short answer is a hard "NO"

TacomaWorld user 'crashnburn80' has an extensive SAE fog light review thread. You'll see the disappointment in many of us that care about lighting and respect for other drivers. Ive also met up with crashnburn for a real time light demo and was absolutely disappointed in these "SAE fogs", i really wanted to love them =/.

Check out the rest of the review in post #1 and the BajaDesign SAE fog review in post #976

BajaDesign SAE link to review -
The LED SAE J583 Fog Pod & Fog Light Review

Picture was taken well above the "cutoff" with arms extended over head. there is no exaggeration in this picture.

BD SAE left / Rigid SAE Right

Full SAE Review Thread link -
The LED SAE J583 Fog Pod & Fog Light Review | Tacoma World

In short, BajaDesigns cheated the system to get SAE certified. Lower lumens and a half-arsed attempt at making a cut off line just to join the "SAE game" but they were the last to join.

don't @ me
