Removing gutter trim and cutting?

I recieved my Vistory 4 X 4 Full rack yesterday and watched the install video. I was disturbed that in the video the guy ripped that front piece of gutter trim right off. I'm not to concerned about trimming the rear piece 4" back fom the mount hole but ripping off that front piece on my 2021 is not something I care to do. I have watch a couple of home install videos on the web and do not see anyone removing the front section of gutter trim like the victory video instructs nor do I see anyone trimming that rear piece back 4 inches. What did you do whith the rubber trim piece that runs along the gutter?

Update: It was my first time working with that gutter trim, 99 percent of it is just pressed into the gutter, once I installed the rack it was easy to cut the trim and reinstall into the gutter and press into place. The very front near the windshield was not hard to reinstall, just cut the length and slide it in so that little plastic clip slides into the metal holder, it slides in, don't try to push it down into, slide it in, then put a spot of RTV under the very front and tape down with masking tape for 24 hours to dry. OR just leave it all out.

I pulled mine out then cut it and placed back in the gutter. The front edges had some type of adhesive and of course don't stick back to it after removal, but I'm planning (at some point lol) to use silicone to re-adhere them to the gutter so they don't flop at high speeds.

There's a metal strip inside the gutter trim fyi, so you'll need to use some dikes.

Are your front mounts in the gutter or on the roof?

Put mine on over the weekend, You can feel it up top at hiway speeds, like having a small sail. Yes there is wind noise, it reminds me of like a gust of wind hitting your truck but constant above 60 MPH. Gained about a 1 MPG on hiway driving. I don't regret, it looks bad ass and I can throw my yaks on top with no effort but yes you will notice it's up there on hiway driving. Can I still talk on my phone, sure it's not that loud but you'll know it's there.
