Rago Panels & Cargo Cover Solution?

Before I start from scratch and fab something, has anyone already figured out a solution for incorporating the cargo cover with panels installed?

Just so I have this straight. You have molle panels on your third row windows. Yet now you're worried about something in your cargo area being a theft magnet?

True story.........If the tweakers want in, they are going to break in regardless of what they can see through the window. They might not bust out the 3rd windows, but any of the door windows will shatter just the same. (Thank You Portland Oregon for that valuable lesson)

Correct. Unfortunately, panels on the side window don't prevent people form breaking the back window. Crazy I know, asking them to make one for the back window so I can completely make the roll down feature useless.

My main concern with the Ragos, is not the cover per say. But the fact that anything mounted there, like the one behind the driver can allow projectiles to break off and fly at the drivers head in a crash. Stuff I wanted to mount there like my Russkie shovel and various other stuff could be come dangerous in a crash. Minor issue, but something to think about. Otherwise the panels look quite nice, I was going to powder mine perhaps transparent Orange or Blue.

First I agree with your point, the idea is to have some items hidden from plain view.
I haven't figured it out yet, since there are other projects going first and this is not on the top of the priorities list.
I played with the original cover for a little bit and haven't been able to get it to mount with the rago panels. So I have been thinking about cutting off the oem cargo cover and use the fabric cut it to the new measure and use a tension rod (might come in handy for other purposes too) to hold it next to the back seats and attached somehow to the rago panels as close as possible to the hatch.
Please post an update on what you end up doing!

You are missing my point.

You can see those panels from the outside of the vehicle. It's already a target. Get darker tint, make sure you have decent coverage, keep receipts for anything you keep in the back, and don't worry about it.

If getting your vehicle broken into is an issue I suggest leaving your truck stock. If not the cover with molle panels is kind of pointless. See what I mean?

If that extra piece of mind means so much get a black blanket and leave it in the back.

what he is saying....

if you have tint and those panels, no one can see in anyhow.
if they can, they'll see the molle panels and be interested and pop that glass anyhow.

what's the cover going to do except be annoying in your everyday life.

get a dog. then you won't need the cover

Tough crowd. Actually, what he was saying is that the panels will draw attention and be asking to be broken into.

Just a simple question. I have tint, I have panels, I have a dog and I have had a cargo cover on my two 4Rs since 2010 and have reason to use it.

I don't worry about break-ins, because I don't bolt unnecessary crap on it during my day to day commute. I also put cheap molle bags on the panels, so when I do use the panels, I can throw things into the bag vs. spending time bolting things on it. Otherwise, the panels and bags are usually empty, and takes me literally minutes to fill up the bags.

Also, what I put in the bags are smaller things or odd shaped things, like winch controllers, tire deflators, tire inflator hose, first aid, dog hiking crap, or basically anything that won't kill me in an accident. NO sharp, heavy, or blunt instruments. I also added a cargo net to separate the cargo bay and the passenger bay, so in case the panels do want to try and kill me one day, its less likely in succeeding.

So in essence, the panels and cargo net act like a security device 99 percent of the time.

IF there was a way to utilize a cargo cover, I would probably buy it too........but I didn't let the lack of a cargo cover stop me from utilizing the molle panel to suit my needs either. The molle panel has a more valuable to me vs. the increased risk of theft.

I’ll assume there’s still no answer to this legit question. I am in the same boat, as my truck has different use cases depending on where I drive and what I am doing. Would love to still have the cover option, Raingler has a cargo cover that might work but I don’t think it’s gonna be taught across given how far in you’ll have to place the tie down points because of the RAGO bolts. Any ideas?
