I tried it. But seems to be too distracting. I prefer simple maps for navigation.

I like it when I am offroad and need to look ahead on a trail, but it is completely useless when you're on the road or navigating with it. You will lose a lot of the street data like street names, depth perception feels completely off, and you won't be able to discern which street to take in tightly packed areas.

That was kinda my thought, I just can't seem to find the right zoom level to make it useful.

Some of the street names and businesses are there but it is unlike street view so it is difficult to use with any accuracy. Exploring back roads I like to use it, but again, it is difficult to find the right zoom level.

Anyway, I still think it is one of the benefits of CarPlay...

Yeah, it is perfect for exploration outside of cities. My impossible duality would be having an option for it to automatically switch to street-view inside of cities/during navigation while switching back to satellite view for back roads/mountain passes/off-road.

As a truck driver I use it for reconning my destination.
Quite often the address I'm given is for the office. The shipping/receiving entrance can be in an entirely different place. I also shows potential parking.
For offroading, it can show potential routes. At least here locally (we have no trees)

Cool

Seems like a useful view for mapping out ahead offroad. Guess that doesn't work too well if there is tree coverage.
