So I left the negative terminal unplugged over night, lights are still up there.

Attempted zero point calibration, no go.

I pulled the ECU fuse, attempted ZPC again, no go.

I attempted this work around but no go either.

I searched harder and found this thread with a similar issue to mine. traction light won't turn off

I'll keep researching and attempting, but it's not hurting anything right so I'm not gonna keep stressing about it for now. 4lo and 4hi works, locker work.
All I think I don't have is atrac, multi terrain select, and crawl control.

Maybe I'll make an appointment with the dealer in the next few weeks.

Well,

I took me several tries to calibrate the CP and YR too! I even moved the vehicle because the parking lot is not 100% level. Eventually I got it... AFTER I cleared the DTC using a techStream cable! You've gotta clear the history logs and temp files or else, N/G!

You don't need a techStream scanner to clear them. Just use one of the you-tube vids and follow; just be sure to find a good one, there are hundreds of bad info floating out, as you know! And Like @Old Red stated, you've gotta get the steering wheel straight and be sure that the alignment is dead on!

After that, you should be fine! 'Cheers',

rig!

Hi flyrv9,

Yes! They must be straight, the truck must be level (within 1% of plumb), and shifter in park! If "Center point cali fails, even once (mine failed a few times during first tries), then DTCs "MUST be Cleared", or you cannot perform the YAW Rate acceleration cali, and the "Various Warning Icons" will stay lit-up!

rig, cheers!

Thanks Rig - I thought so. I asked because besides being curious - I didn't want the OP trying to get this to work; when he had no chance, if this was off.

So update. Lights are still there. Not too bothersome. But they're there flashing. I just wanted to take a break from that headache and enjoy how smooth the ride has been since my LCAs and getting the alignment.

I'm ready to have more headaches now.

Again, 4hi, 4lo, diff lock, and actually a-trac (mentioned earlier I didn't have it) dash lights will work fine.
Although the slip indicator light is still solid on during any of these along with a blinking multi terrain, and that solid steering light.

I'm possibly visiting an off road park this weekend so I'll see what truly gets to work.

Maybe I'll make an appointment with the dealer next weekend. Ignoring the lights didn't seem to make it go away. I was hoping that attempt would have been the fix lol.

If the steering light is on I would be wondering about the steering angle sensor on the steering wheel clock spring. If your steering wheel is off and depending on where the slip cable is in the mechanism the steering ECU might not be happy. Again, pull the DTCs and then we can troubleshoot.
I don't have a copy of Tech Stream but I've used my Dad's OBD reader as well as a friend of mine. Both were showing no codes. I'm also thinking the ECU just isn't happy at the moment. It's really driven just fine this past week and a half.
But I noticed something tonight, the indicator of my wheel direciton on the dash, isn't there. Super weird.

Thanks for your help. Unfortunately I've tried multiple attempts to clear these DTCs, with no success.
Steering wheel and alignment couldn't be any better at this point. Also couldn't be happier with the alignment.

Thanks for your input. My wheels were straight after the alignment. It was only before that it wasn't. I've successfully done the ZPC twice in my driveway before. There's something else affecting it all. I do feel I have no chance at fixing this at the moment lol.

Hi MyanRagahis,

Please listen...

you'll "NEVER" get the truck back online until you have a "Proper alignment"; you've replaced the LCA's so the steering needs to be properly corrected; Zero Point and YAW rate may be completely off; compared to factory settings, and the ecu's know that!

And I know that you (likely) have a few DTC's being stored... that's why you can't get the "Steering and other related ecu's to function correctly"! I hate to see you go through this (unnecessarily); but there's a protocol involved here and it's NOT been met!

You'll enjoy your truck a lot more after that's all fixed! 'Best to you',

rig

If the truck has to be within 1% of plumb, then how and where is this measured? If the OP did the ZPC twice in his driveway and knowing most all driveways are sloped for drainage; I'm curious. I'm familiar with leveling airplanes to do certain alignments. They have a target mounted for a plum bob to reference - so I was wondering if there is a target or reference marker somewhere placed by Toyota for future adjustments on our vehicles.

That way one could know the vehicle was level before attempting alignments like the ZPC. Even siting in the vehicle would exceed 1% of level / plumb unless jacks were used.

If you take it to the dealer let us know what they find, but my money is on the clock spring and steering sensor assembly.
You hit it head on. Took it to Toyota Saturday and the diagnosis was needing a new spiral cable and steering angle sensor along with alignment. Dropped it off yesterday morning and got it back an hour ago.
The dealer experience was pleasant really. Sucks installing new parts got me into this but it is what it is. It's fixed and I'm happy.
Thanks for the help everyone!

Take it to the dealer.

I have issues with zero point calibration after suspension work over the years and I have never been able to get the procedure to work correctly.
Your dealer will have a proper tool rather than a jumper wire, and it should be quick and cheap.

Hi! I bought a 2012 T4R LTD this week. Previous owner lifted 2" less than 300 miles ago. Had to sell it because he's being moved to other country within his company. This week noticed several times, that ABS/VSC/Stability control kicked in on some turns at not so high speed. I almost died of panic the fist time, after thinking what happened figured out the sensors thought I was loosing stability. I've read on this forum that a ZPC is needed. I've a friend that has a scanner, so I was wondering if the scanner is all you need for that? and also, do you think I'll need to get rid of lift and go back to original settings? just wondering. Thanks for your suggestions.

(FIXED 7.3.19) Zero Point Calibration Not Working- Steering Light On

What setup did he use to lift it? I have only seen small spacer style lifts recommended for Limiteds.
