Just got the phone with Baja Designs all they said was that they are not shipping any out now and are waiting back on testing. They will have a press release when they figure it out. Bummer since I just installed mine in amber 🤔

Baja Designs just confirmed that the SAE Lights are on Stop Order for now.

Estimated ship date is 2 weeks.

They also shared they improved upon the User Serviceable Solution presented to us at the SEMA Show. Current customers will be receiving these, but not yet sure when they will actually ship. This solution specifically addresses the beam pattern.

We will continue to share any updates on Production Changes and Re-Release of the SAE Fog Lights.

I'm guessing a "user serviceable solution" won't be replacing the old lights with new.

If anyone wants to sell their original spec SAE amber lights, hit me up.

In my experience, Baja Designs has always taken care of it's customers, and I would expect the same from them with this as well. Once they have confirmed third party testing results, I'm sure they'll announce the next steps!

Just got an email saying to contact them. Looks like we have an option to do the update ourselves or ship it back to them to do.

Here is a copy of the Update from Baja Designs

In November 2019 a third party made Baja Designs aware that the SAE Squadron
was out of compliance with J583 guidelines.

We immediately shipped samples to a testing facility for further verification.

Our testing discovered that the light was over by 119 candelas on the upward horizontal
axis. In more understandable terms, that is the equivalent of 1.19 candles at 10 meters.

Our engineering department has been working on a fix for existing customers ensuring
their SAE Squadron’s comply. We have developed a lens insert that has been tested and
confirmed by Intertek, the global leader in compliance testing, that can be installed into
existing products.

Current backorders of our SAE Squadron will ship in 3-4 weeks.

Existing customers can either install the insert themselves or contact Baja Designs directly
requesting a shipping label.

Once we receive the light in-house, our trained technicians will update the SAE Squadron
followed by expediting the now compliant Squadron back free of charge.

Please reach out to Baja Designs directly ensuring your SAE Squadron is updated within a
timely manner.

I called them earlier today and they said the fix was still roughly 2-3 weeks out.

I received the same email.

Would I be able to make an order for the newly tested and SAE compliant Squadrons knowing the wait time will be about 3-4 weeks?

Just purchased LEDs for headlights but don't want to install them until I get the BD SAE Squadrons.

Almost decided to go with the OEM LED fog lights (the ones on TRD Pro) but I didn't want to deal with getting a lamin-x amber film cover.

I've not received a response to my email and when I try calling the number, it says it is no longer in service.

Anyone else having issues contacting them?
