Toyotas paint is garbage. I don't care what you say. In the last decade I've owned 6 new vehicles from 3 different manufacturers, and now I own a 9 year old GMC Sierra that has better paint quality than our '19 TRDOR that I bought for my wife.
We didn't even have 200 miles on it when I found the first gouge in the front bumper plastic, that I seriously dount we caused. Id bet it was an issue during delivery. The dealer couldn't have cared less. All I got out of them was a free bottle of touchup paint, it was almost like they were use to complaints about paint quality and were done making attempts to satisfy the customer.
With less than 3500 miles on it now, it has even more paint chips. Two on the rear bumper that must have come from the carwash that I've been through 1000 times with other vehicles with no issues. Numerous others on the hood and mirrors that I didnt bother taking pictures of because they arent too bad. Yet.
The one on the door edge was my fault, I'll give you that much. But the vehicle I accidentally hit while getting our daughter out of her car seat didnt even have a scuff mark.
You can say what you want about "it's a 4runner, get over it" or "keep it parked in the garage", because in some degree I agree. However, when I pay nearly $45k for a vehicle, I expect better quality.
I'm disappointed to hear that it's a pretty common issue with Yotas as I was considering getting a Tundra as my next truck.
But hey, it looks amazing from 30 feet.
