I checked the part numbers on parts.toyota.com for the "Sensor, Automatic Light Control"

2020 4 Runner SENSOR, AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL
This Fits Your 2020 Toyota 4RunnerPart Number: 8912106020
Supersession(s): 89121-06020; 8912150020
$180

You can only query 2019 on toyotapartsdeal.com. They don’t have 2020 listed yet.
Toyota Part No.: 89121-06020
The vehicle options this part fits:
Production Date: 08/2013-
Fitting Vehicle Options: GRN28#; GRN285
Sensor, Automatic Light Control
LIMITED PACKAGE
TRD-PRO
LIMITED BLACK EDITION(DISC WHEEL=BLACK)
$127

So it looks like 8912106020 is the latest rev and is what's being used on the TRD-PRO and Limited.

I'll give it a try when I get my 2020 SR5 Premium

Anyone got their clock to work with the sensor?

I got the head unit and cluster to work but clock still dims out.

IIRC, you have to change something in the settings on the headunit. Should be info in this thread.

It SEEMS my gauges and console controls do NOT adjust the lighting automatically. These are the photos I took of the front sensor spot thingy

Imgur: The magic of the Internet

How do I know if that's the sensor/working or not? I have the Canadian 2020 TRD Off-Road

I do have auto high beams...

Park in a dark place, grab a flashlight, and go back to post 55 of this thread. The sensor operation is described there. At least for how it works on my 2018 ORP. Your 2020 may be different.

What is all thats needed if you don't have a harness ???

I mean I can get a harness and what's it connected too or is this a waste of time for the amount of money that I would need to do for a small mod

I have a 18 SR5 Premium. I see majority posting it isn't working for the SR5's. Has anyone pulled the dummy plug and tested the wires with a multi meter to see if it's receiving any current? I figured it would be better to test to see if I do have the wires that they are plugged in on the other end before ordering the new plug.
Thanks

Make sure the dimmer dial to the left of the steering wheel is not locked in the full up position

Anyone have luck on a 2012 Trail Edition?

I took this cap off a long time ago to run wires for my vhf radio but after seeing this I might need to rip apart the console to see if I had wires attached, I don't think I did but can't remember. Would be surprised.

Yeah it's not. How do I know if it's the sensor or just plastic cap?

This worked on my SR5 but I had to run 3 wires from the sensor harness to the body ECU. I never tested the existing 3 wires at the sensor, but I'm pretty sure they were not connected all the way through to anything.

This 100%.

For those with SR5's who don't get any change with the sensor, you are missing a blue, pink and red wire from the Main body MPX ECU to the large junction connector behind the instrument cluster. If you have the blue connector attached to the blank where the sensor goes, the wiring from the sensor to large junction connector is present. You just need to complete the three circuits. @LakeRunr posted a solution in this thread I'm pretty sure.

Sorry, I didnt follow that you hadn't purchased the sensor. If you pry the plastic cap off and disconnect the harness, it'll be obvious that it's either a sensor with pins or just a plastic holder. But beyond that, they look pretty much identical from above. But it seems like a safe bet that you don't have the sensor anyway.
