Did you do the install yourself? Or a shop? (seattle area here, Everett actually, I would love a ride in your 4R someday, I am really tempted to do the SC, but I'm going to wait until I at least have my first oil change...)

Had Michael's Toyota in Bellevue do it. Magnuson will essentially take over the warranty for the engine (since Toyota isn't going to cover it anymore) but only if you have a Dealer or Certified ASE technician install it. Give all the crazy mods that Michael's does, I felt comfortable going to them for this.

Sure, send me a PM and I'll coordinate a ride with you.

Question for those that rock the Magnuson supercharger. Is there any issue with using it in conjunction with Sprint Booster? Seem to get conflicting responses on this. I have a Sprint Booster V2 connected but it's currently disabled. I did turn it on for awhile and the performance of both items together was awesome. Just not sure if Sprint booster would damage the timing of anything.

I too am in Seattle area and currently looking for a shop to do the install. Toyota of Renton said they would not do any after market installs. I will check with Toyota of Bellevue. Glad to hear!!

Yes, if you've ever been to Michael's they throw on all sorts of aftermarket stuff on new and used vehicles. When talking to them, apparently they had 4 other vehicles lined up to have Magnuson Superchargers installed so I guess they know what they are doing

All the sprintbooster does is change the skinny pedal input. These newer Toyotas have the accelerator input programmed for fuel economy instead to the natural linear feel.

It has nothing to do with air/ fueling/ timing...etc. So you should be fine.

I have the Sprint Booster on my 17 TRDP. Just changes pedal response only taking out the fuel economy lag. That said, Pedal response in the TRDP is more responsive then my fun driver. 19 Mustang GT PP1 with Roush Stage one tune. This is normal interstate cruising only.

OK got it installed and Wow! TLDR - I love this mod and it is transformed the 4runner. If, one is on the fence and is willing to spend this on a modification, I can not recommend enough.

History-
Car guy, love power, love cars, I have daily-driven mainly manual transmission sporty cars for many years, after owning many powerful vehicles I was wanting more from my 4runner.

Dilemma-
Spend this kind of money on a modification to a vehicle that I do not love driving, but knowing it has the potential to be great, due to practicality, perfect size, styling, off road capabilities.....
I was going back and forth. Do I mod the 4runner or get another vehicle.

Decision-
I decided to mod the 4runner and I am very happy that I did, it is a beast. I was pretty anxious about all of this, because it was expensive, and I traveled to have it installed in Bend OR at Kendall Toyota. I wanted to find a dealer that had done several installs, they have a Magnason SC on display and in stock at their parts department. I had checked around and they are a small dealer, but they did a great job and it was worth the travel to get it done there.

Impressions-
Driving back home on mountain two lane roads, wow is all I can say, so much more power, up hills, at altitude with the AC going, I was shocked at how much more powerful my 4runner was. Once getting down closer to Sea Level it was 90 degrees and hot and the truck was pulling and felt very powerful. After reading that some people felt underwhelmed, my experience was the exact opposite. I could not be happier with the change to the vehicle.

Price-
I think we all know it is not cheap, but if Toyota offered this as a factory option how much would I be willing to pay for it? The answer is a lot, so that was my justification. I do think my background of owning really fun sporty cars made this mod more attractive. I also have always modified cars including a full STASIS package on an Audi that was more costly than the SC, so I had experience with adding major components for power.

Summary-
For types like myself this is a a good spend, to others it is a complete waste of money and I get both sides of that argument. If someone asked me for advice, I would say get a lower priced 4runner (SR5) save the money then add on the Magnuson Supercharger it is a great modification.

Any questions PM me.
Thanks to all for the great info.

Got my '19 from Kendall with the Magnuson already installed in January. Did you get your tuner with it? If not, Paul Kincannon, the service manager, now realizes how important that is that you have it. Tell 'em Chuck sent ya ... you'll probably get thrown out. LOL! Went though a bit to get mine. Excellent install, though. No runs, drips or errors.

I do agree that it makes a world of difference. Was concerned about going through 100+ deg weather with the intercooler rad in front of the stock rad .... no problem. I be happy with mine!

Enjoy!!!

Chuck
Yes, I got it, thanks for tuning them up for me....
Small dealer, but they did a good job for me.
They also installed Metal Tech sliders and an exhaust.

So ... have you considered a Sprint Booster? May have to check with Magnuson on that one being as they’re covering the engine. Love the performance increase, but wouldn’t mind a bit better throttle response. My concern is the drivetrain, which is covered by my extended warranty. Just thinkin’.
