Xenon Depot LED interior lights stay dim when off

Installed a set of Xenon Depot LED interior lights inside the whole car. Came out great. A lot more light than stock.

Only issue is the two tailgate ones stay on dim with the tailgate closed. I have searched and people have said to run a resistor inline. But has anyone else had this issue? What other fixes are there?

It's hard to tell why without having a schematic and not being able to measure voltage and current on your LED lights. What you say is possible if the lights are controlled by a module with a transistor output or a PWM output. In that case a resistor connected in parallel (not in series) should help. Resistor value will be determined by measuring current of the LED lights. Improperly sized resistor (Ohms and wattage) may overheat and start a fire.
Another option would be to install a 12 VDC interposing relay but it may not work well with a PWM (pulse width modulated) output.

I noticed this on mine when I swapped the OEM bulbs out for the cheap LED's from Amazon. Then I realized the switch was in the "auto" position. Flipped it to "off" position, problem solved.

Yeah that is what I’m doing now. And just turning them on when I need them. But would like to have them on auto. I would have thought XD LED were “higher” quality. Oh well may switch over to the arclight for the rear.

Wishful thinking, but probably exactly the same part manufacturer. IDK

That's exactly what I ended up doing. I ended up with Arc lights for the map and dome lights as well.

Those things are genius!!
