2019 Limited third row swap available

Anyone with a new/newish Limited with black leather interested in adding a third row? I'd like to remove mine (and sell it to you for a *very* fair price).

Mine is brand new, less than 1000 miles. If it works out, you can come by my shop in Inglewood and I'll do the work. Should take a few hours to do it correctly, all the way to the carpets and floor brackets.

I have a possible trade for just the third row with a Trail owner, but would prefer to do both second and third row with someone with the leather interior so it's as stock and complete as possible for both of us.

PM if interested

Josh

Are you sure it can be done without major modifications? I removed the second row seats from my T4R (with 3rd row). The seat mounting bolt brackets seem to be made for this specific model only. I may be wrong thou.
Please keep us updated if you find someone to trade with. I don't need the 3rd row but bought this model because it had more driver legroom compared to a regular model. I'd love to get rid of the 3rd row seats but not sure it can be done without major modifications to the vehicle's body.

From what I gleaned from the parts guy at the dealer today, the body/frame hardware is all there, just some of the nuts aren't opened through the body on the 2nd row cars, so there's some drilling to be done. That said, I'm going to go back next week and double check based on what you said.

I used to do fab work (primarily Euro, not Japanese, but it's really all the same), so none of that concerns me as much as the cost of the parts if I can't find a comparable 2 row car.

That might work! I've had a couple people ask about the third row individually and one who's willing to do the whole swap but $$ could be an issue. You seem like you're up for a proper project like this, lol.

In your research did you find out about the second row floor mounts and seat back latch mounts? I've heard conflicting reports about them being the same between the 2 row/3 row cars.

I'd probably buy the rear lower panels too because it has the JBL and want to keep it as OE looking as possible. Damn things are $300 each...

Also, mine's the Nightshade, so it's a leather second row. I'll recon I'll end up reupholstering the second row if I can't find another Limited to swap with

I think swapping a third row into a two row 4Runner is going to be pretty involved.

Not only do you need the third row seats and hardware, but I think you need the rear panel pieces, seatbelts, and possibly a different headliner. Plus, the second row is different because the seats need to slide forward for access to the third row.

Also, I’m not sure the side curtain airbags extend all the way back in a two row 4Runner. You might want to look into this. See if they are different.

Just a few things to consider.

All you need is the panels ( if you dont want to cut and modify your factory ones), 3rd row seats, seat belts, and weld the nuts/thread thats not there...

look at my build thread for more info.

as for air bags... if you have a 2010 to 2013 models you need the curtain air bags. But after 2014 ( my year ) the air bags are full curtains now.

Nightshade is Toyota's 2019 trim special. All the chrome is blacked out and it has the dark interior trim like the TRDs instead of the silver that's in the regular Limiteds. It's pretty sweet.

My 15 Trail had the red stitch. Not a fan. But I found a local re-upholstery spot that'll do the second row for a fair price. They're a Lexus warranty shop, so I figure they'll have a good handle on the materials. I'll shoot you a PM
