Cure for that rear end sag while towing long distance is a set of inflatable Firestone Airbags. Towing short distances - house to Bull Shoals Lake, 5 miles away, is fine - no sag.

There have to be a lot of good areas between you and me for some 4wheeling adventures. I was wondering if there were any groups/clubs in SW MO that got together for some trail running. I'm much too old to sleep in a tent mounted to the roof, so the whole overlanding thing isn't for me. LOL
I haven't been to Bull Shoals in almost 40 years. We usually hit Pomme or TR, although TR on the weekend is almost as bad as Lake of the Ozarks. Don't have to worry about the "sag" as I drive a 3/4 ton diesel P/U; the 4R is the wife's new ride.

Dangit, I forgot about that Expo.
I chatted with the WP guy and his Dad for a couple hours at the Rendezvous in the Ozarks get together in Arkansas last year. Seemed like a solid guy. He had some real nice Land Cruisers. Been meaning to stop in his shop in WP. He has a decent youtube page:

Bull Shoals is the forgotten lake - not much traffic on it other than Bass Fishermen and a few pontoon boats in the summer.
I've been trying find someone with a Toyota in this area that wants to off road. Not much luck. Seems most of the clubs are Jeep related or ATV's.
I've been meaning to check out SMORE north in Seymour, MO. Looks like they open mid March per their calendar (Friday - Sunday):
SMORR – Southern Missouri Off Road Ranch
The Ozark Rendezvous was at Bryd's Off Road Park. Some pretty cool trails down there:
ATV / UTV Off-Road Vehicle Trails at Byrd's Adventure Center ORV Park
I have Glade Top Trail just north of me which can be done in a 2wd Prius, plus was out exploring an off road trail that I believe ends in The Hercules Glades Wilderness area.
Looks to be only a 3.1 mile, I made it maybe 1/2 way down and turned around. Got to a point where I should've stacked some rocks to scale an off camber obstacle. Trail is located off Hwy 160 just west of where Hwy 125 goes south to the Peel Ferry.
I'll shoot you an Instant Message, lets get together and off road.

I’ve done some group ATV riding over around Chadwick. That looks to be about halfway between us. The stuff we rode was too narrow for an on-road vehicle. Not sure if there are other trails there or if it’s limited to ATVs.
Sounds like Pomme and Bull Shoals are a lot alike in terms of traffic.

Side note, installed the Sprint Booster yesterday.
https://www.burtmanindustries.com/zo...un_sprint_bstr
Sprint Booster
Holy Crap! It turned a sluggish dog into a drag race car.
I was able to spin all 4 tires in 4H from a dead stop on my gravel road. My road connects to a 2 lane 55mph state highway. Punching it in Red #5 I was up to 60mph in a matter of seconds. Normally that would take a good 1/2 mile or more.
It's an apples and oranges difference.
I bought it in August but figured I'd hold off until all the "free" dealer maintenance was done on the vehicle. I have 1 - 20k mile service / oil change left on the 4Runner. I'm at 16k miles.

I had my original tires posted for sale on facebook marketplace. Started with a price of $400. Dropped the price down to $300 in December.
Had a guy ask me if I'd take a Winchester Ranger 30-30 in trade for the tires. I said hell yeah. Already have a Winchester 92 30-30 but a rifle takes up far less space than those tires did.
Made the trade in Lowe's parking lot in Branson. The guy mention he was going to put the tires on his daughter's 3rd or 4th gen 4Runner.
His picture of the rifle:
I still have the following, I need to list for sale:
Original black cross bars.
Original black non-TRD front skid plate.
Original suspension system (4 shocks 4 springs).

Took Glade Top Trail home from Ava, MO yesterday. Found some puddles to play in off one of the side trails that goes to an old Cemetery.

Couple updates.
Added black overlays to the badges. Bought these from Running 4 Taco's. Spendy but damn they look good. Plan to paint the rear, silver valance, black.
Emblem Overlays - 2010-2020 Toyota 4Runner
– Runnin 4 Tacos
Installed a Smittybuilt model 2763 Storage Vault. 4Wheel Parts has them on sale for $242.85 shipped.
Smittybilt Rear Lockable Storage Box - 2763 | 4wheelparts.com
I mounted it so it's offset allowing me to put water and groceries next to it.
It came with 3 L brackets that I drilled holes for. These are attached to 3 of the 4 tie downs:
I can get all my recovery gear in there.
Note on the Smittybuilt box. I hear noises coming from it. Hitting the brakes while going down hill off road, it sounds like the drawer is moving.
My D-Rings I have stuffed into my Rhino Tow Strap bag are noisy - sound like bells ringing back there. Need to pad them better. Probably stuff them individually into some old pillow cases.
I did have an instance bashing though a mud hole where it sounded / felt like the whole box lifted off the cargo floor.
@ 2/10ths the price of a Frontrunner, Arb, or Dobinson's box - it's functional.
Speaking of the mud hole, I explored some more of an ATV trail that I believe connects to Glade Top Trail. Not 100% about the legality of on road vehicles on ATV trails but there are no signs on either end of the trail.
Went further this time. Did a creek crossing and then found Mud. Passed through 3 muddy field sections with ATrac & the rear locker engaged. The 4Runner plowed right through... sideways more or less.
Heard some kids up ahead gleefully screaming + the sounds of ATV's so I turned back.
Aftermath pic:

Going back to the Smittybuilt box. Before installing it, I pulled up the rear carpet to see if it would be possible to bolt the box down to the rear cargo area.
I didn't want to drill holes into the floor so passed on that idea. Here's some pics of how to pull up the rear carpet. It's really easy.
Used a screw driver to pull up the front edge of the rear plastic trim piece. Enough so I could get a couple fingers under it and pull up.
The carpet attaches via some clips. Used the flat head screwdriver to pull those apart.
From there you can pull sides of the carpeting out and roll it up. Underneath is a 4Runner embossed piece of styrofoam that comes out real easy.
Underneath - not much available for mounting the Smittybuilt box without drilling holes.

Have added a few things.
Dumped the noisy squeaky lock box for a duffel bag:
Finally installed my Shrockworks Skid Plates. Had them powder coated hammertone black and then took them over to a local small oil change / tire shop and had them installed. I helped a bit with the stick nuts.
Leaving today for Rendezvous in the Ozarks 2020.
Rendezvous in the Ozarks 2020..
Mounted a set of cheap traction boards to my LFD roof bars.
Also mounted my Ram Cell Phone mount to the dash.
Amazon.com: RAM X-Grip Large Phone Mount with Diamond Base: Automotive
Things I still need to do.
Install a Greenlane ladder (is in my garage).
5th Gen 4Runner Ladder — GREENLANE OFF-ROAD
Install a anytime front / backup camera.
Install a winch disconnection switch.

Vacationing in Cape Coral Florida for 3.5 weeks.
Getting lots of compliments on the 4Runner. While there are a few lifted 4Runners around, I have yet to see anyone in this area with a winch. Took a slow day and went and and had the rear bumper valance wrapped. Looks factory.

Still debating my next tire size. I really need a BMC done. Going to look for a Missouri company that can do that.
Have a set of SPC UCA's sitting at the house. Along with a set of steel rims.
Looking at these two 285 - MT tires:

Cooper Evolution M/T Tires | Truck Mud Terrain Tires | Discount Tire Direct

Not ruling them out but that's 3.5 hour drive each way for me.
Going to check with these guys in West Plains. I've seen them at some of the Overland Rallies in the area:
