Drobs' 2019 Off Road build

Pic from day one - home from the dealer.

The front end fell off...

Need to wire the winch (Warn VR10) to truck, torque everything down, cut and re-install the front end today.

I need some air or electric tools.

Parts list.

Warn 100022 Winch Bumper $717
Warn Semi Hidden Mounting Kit | Discount Bandit
Reviews on that company suck so be warned. They had the best price I could find on the web.

Warn VR10 Winch $540
Warn VR10 10,000lb Winch with Synthetic Cable 96810

TRD Skid Plate $291.45
Toyota 2018-2019 Toyota 4Runner TRD Front Skid Plate PTR60-89190 OEM PTR60-89190 | BAM

I swapped the stock tires for a set of Falken Wildpeak AT3W - day 1. Stuck with the stock size 265/70SR17.0.

Future plans:
Lift
Sliders
Lights
Some way of mounting external fuel. Either a ladder or rear tire mount / fuel carry.

Down the line - larger tires.

Kind of gave up on this thread.

After the winch / bumper. I removed the nerf bars and sold them on facebook market place.

July 25th, 2019 - had an Eibach Pro Truck lift installed. Bought the kit from Tire Rack and had it shipped (free shipping) to my house:

https://www.tirerack.com/suspension/...ck+Lift+System

Had a shop that specializes in vehicle lifts in Springfield, MO install the lift for $475.

BKS Built Trucks, LLC

This cured the sagging front end plus greatly enhanced the overall on / off road handling of the vehicle. Nose dive on braking is gone + it's tight through the curves. The awful body roll of the non-kdss 4Runner is gone.

The salesman, I bought my 4Runner from, gave me a business card for his Dad's tint and accessory shop. Handwritten on the card was a quote for tinting the front windows for $50. Had that done August 25th, 2019.

Being tall, I left the front windshield plain instead of getting a tinted eyebrow. I hate having to duck my head around a tinted eye brow to see what's up ahead on a road while driving.

Begining of October 2019, I installed a Caliraised light bar in the grill. I live off a dark, mile long, private road and use the light bar almost every evening.

Mid October 2019, I installed Shrockworks Rock Sliders. They are a pita to install with those stick nuts. Found that buying longer bolts from the local hardware store made the process 10X easier.

5th Gen Toyota 4Runner Rock Sliders, 2010-2020

Only complaint on the sliders is, they stick out past the wheels and cause a bit of a wind drag on the road. Noticing that my MPG has gone down from 18/20 with lift to 18 with the sliders added. Like the nerf bars, they make it a pain to get in and out of the vehicle.

The sliders did save me from having body damage while off roading in the Ozark National Forest in Arkansas at the end of October.

Here's a video of trail we were on taken by a Jeeper going the other direction:
YouTube

Plus a crappy little video of me doing one of the many water crossings.
YouTube

Last thing I installed was a set of LFD Ruggadized Cross Bars bought during a Black Friday Sale. Plan to mount a knock of set of Traction Boards on them:

http://www.lfdoffroad.com/catalog/to...ossbar-5th-gen

Visited my family in Michigan over thanksgiving. Found some snow to play in off road:

Waiting to be installed in the garage:

Black Out badge / letter covers.
Sprint Booster.
Front & Rear Camera.
Axle Vent kit.
Shrockworks Skid Plates - waiting for it to warm up so I can paint them.

Not ordered but planning:

Rear Ladder - want to use this for mounting rotopax fuel containers.

How the truck currently sits:

Do you have side profile shot of the WARN winch mount? Trying to decide between this and Victory 4x4

I can snap one for you - front or side? Feel free to post a Victory pic you want to compare the Warn to.

Things I like about the Warn:

1. Readily available on the shelf everywhere - no long lead times.
2. Already powder coated black. No additional expense / hassle of finding a local powder coating shop.
3. Holes already drilled for easy mounting of a front license plate.
4. Heavy duty plus easy to reach controls.
5. Non-angled fairlead.

One of both if possible. I like all of your points and the non angled fairlead. The Victory appears to be the most tucked in by far. However the price/power coating seems to be a winner to.

Just stumbled across your thread. Small world, I’m in Springfield and have been looking for a shop to install a lift on my TRD ORP. Thanks for listing the shop you used. Still happy with their work? By chance did you look at Safari Off-road in Nixa? I was going to check them out before seeing your recommendation.

I live out in Ozark County, MO but get Springfield every couple weeks. We should get together. There's a couple other 3rd / 4th gen guys in the area.

Haven't been to Safari in Nixa.

Very happy with BKS Trucks. Lots of these off road shops want to sell you the lift as well as the install. Some wont install a kit you bring in to them. No problems with BKS on that.

Few weeks ago I brought them my 2006 Nissan Frontier and had them install a set of 4 Bilstein shocks plus a PRG spacer lift. Had the lift sitting in my garage for the past 3 years.

I bought the shocks from them and couldn't beat their price anywhere online. Install was $500 including alignment. Bilsteins were $100 each.

The $475 (labor) quoted to me on the Eibach lift included an alignment done by a shop across the street from them.

Still loving my Eibach Pro Truck lift. Only negative, which I believe applies to all lifts... I had a good bit of rear end sag pulling a boat, that my brother in-law gave us, home to Missouri from Minnesota. Unhitching the boat resulted in everything going back to normal.

Cure for that rear end sag while towing long distance is a set of inflatable Firestone Airbags. Towing short distances - house to Bull Shoals Lake, 5 miles away, is fine - no sag.

Boat / Nissan:

Just peeked at Safari Off Road's website and facebook page. Neither have been updated in years. If you visit them, let me know if they have soft shackles in their showroom. Looking to get a few.

I think I looked at their website years ago when looking to lift my Nissan.

Thanks and I will let you know on the soft shackles. The wife and I attended the Overland Expo in town last weekend and there were several vendors selling them. Didn't see Safari O/R there though. There was a guy out of West Plains at the expo who specializes in Toyotas. We talked to him at length and he seemed very knowledgeable. Wife's sister lives in WP so we might use that guy. Do you know anything about him? Ozark Overland Outfitters was his business.
