No worries. Wasn't complaining so sorry if it came off like that!

I have a Sherpa rack so will order these but haven't yet.

Roof Rack Awning Brackets | Universal Aluminum Awning Mount | Sherpa Equipment Co. — Sherpa Equipment Company

Don't know the exact measurements.

What I gave you was what his design was - that's all I know.

@rageandlove no issue at all... it’s all good. How wide are the bars on your rack? Once I know that I can verify a few dimensions and get it designed. I need the dimensions of your bars to ensure the holes line up perfectly.

When I was looking at it I had the mounting orientation wrong. I went back and looked at the pics and understand how it mounts. I redrew it and should have a price in a couple of days. The thickness will be different than the image also.

So far if I'm not mistaken 3 people want 2 brackets each, right?

Also, it looks like this...

Also, will 2 brackets be enough to support the largest road shower, 10gal?

I hate to say this but I’m not sure I can get them produced much cheaper than the original cost. The volume that I have to do to get the price lower might not make sense.

I’m going to see what the cost might be with a different material/thickness but I’m not hopeful. I’ll keep y’all updated.

Thanks for taking a run at it. I'm not super surprised ... I would expect shops to be in the same rough area wrt costs.

Maybe one of us should call up Yakima who owns them now ...

Sherpa Roadshower

If you figure out the Sherpa setup - I’ll take 2 brackets as well!

Mounted sideways - much easier

So we were somehow able to locate a roadshower4 (they are on backorder everywhere at the moment) and I had 2 days to get it mounted on my prinsu rack alongside my giant 4-person RTT.

I Love the creativity of the OP, and actually sent this trhead to prinsu design studios and told them to give you a few grand and buy your CAD design @MRG_TRG.

I also wanted to mount ehs hower side-to-side (not front-to-back). With only 2 days to mount and no machining/welding setup at home, I took a simpler approach, steps and photos below:

1. Buy a 4" X 4" X 8' L-bar of aluminum (from home depot)
2. Spray paint it black (crinkle paint, of course) so it matches color - important for the instagram bragging
3. Cut it off to be the width of the road shower - about 4".
4. Drill holes in aluminum to fit carriage bolt into roadshower, attach.
5. Put drill bit through side of prinsu rack and drill through L-bracket (so height lines up). Bolt-washer-washer-nut through side of prinsu.

In other words, just using L-brackets of aluminum I was able to rest the shower on the prinsu rack and secure it in place. Not hanging off the side.

I'm happy to say it was a huge success on the 10-day trip from oregon dunes to Tahoe, CA.

Total cost was less than $100. Uploading photos to this forum is dumb so here's a link to google photos album:

Interested in getting these brackets made ASAP

Hello all, new to the forum and looking for a similar solution to the brackets discussed here. Exact same situation as the OP except on an '04 with a Prinsu and a 7 gallon road shower that I waited 3 months for.

Not sure where things left off with having these fabricated/powdercoated and don't want to step on anyone's toes, but I'm happy to pick up and get them done ASAP. If there's an existing group buy in progress, I'm in for 2.

Hey everybody, sorry I haven’t been on here in months and I’m just seeing all of these messages. Glad to hear that my solution generated more interest. I’m going to go ahead and produce another run of the brackets and those that are interested can purchase them from me. I still won’t try to turn a huge profit but will ask that those that are interested kick in a few extra bucks for my time. I will post back on here when I get the new ones delivered.

So that's where we are. Not currently planning on ordering 10 - maybe this fall when I have more time on my hands.

Hey All, I just ordered another run this morning for 10 sets of 2. Cost will be $65 per pair. I should have them in about 2-3 weeks and will let everyone know when they are available. I think I can add a private page on my existing website so that people can order them directly without having to email back and forth. I will keep you all updated.
