5th Gen Roof Rack Build
I built a low profile roof rack for my fiancé’s 5th gen. It uses the factory rubber roof pads and mounting locations. She wanted it to be low and simple. I’m finishing up a second one with more of a basket style for a friend’s TRD Pro. Currently designing a small fairing for the front to minimize the wind noise.
A local shop Line-X’ed it and I had my logo laser cut into the rear mounts. Just mounted it up yesterday!

That looks awesome. Do you have any of the build specs and pics of the build you’d share? Nice job!

Hopefully soon! I’m currently tweaking my welding fixture and files for the laser cut parts. I’m a one man show and this is my “side business” at this point. I’m working out of my garage, but have plans to expand! I’ll definitely become a vendor in the near future and start getting a couple of these out!

It’s 1.75” OD tube, 1/8” and 3/16” plate for the mounting structure. It took a bunch of time to design the mounting surfaces, but I like to keep as close to OEM as possible! Everything is still hand cut (this is rack #1) at the moment, except the logo plates. I had those laser cut by sendcutsend.com.
I just checked out your build thread quick, you do nice work as well!

sounds great! side note: if it's an easy enough job, i think youd be able to make some good money selling DIY kits. i see DIY bumper/slider kits everywhere but hardly ever any roof rack kits.
