Just installed this unit in a 2017 4Runner Limited. Fairly easy install, but i did take it nice and slow (no instructions were included)
1st impressions
The screen size is a major improvement over the stock unit, which is smaller than the screen on my cell phone
The OS doesn't seem to have any speed lag. The backup camera comes on immediately if on already, about 2 secs when starting from off.
Apparently the unit doesn't support the XM module, which may be deal breaker. I've installed the app, but don't currently have a sim card, so i would need to use my phone as a hotspot. The radio however is a nice improvement over stock. plenty of options and features.
I was able to install a launcher that makes the usage even easier and flexible.
There was an issue with the wrong cable/connector being shipped but they have agreed to ship the correct one.
I'm still figuring out usage (again, no manual) but so far, it does what it's supposed to do. I do have to figure out how to get google maps working without having internet access - i figure it should work similar to how the stock unit works with not having internet access.
If anyone has a question I'll be happy to answer.
Tony

Does it come with an OBDII module? I think the T8 has an option for it. Do you have to have a SIM card for anything else (Pandora, Spotify, Google Maps, etc) or just XM?

I don't know about an OBDII module, but there seems to be a $10 option for it:
Free shipping Camera / Dashcam Recorder / Carplay Dongle / OBD For Toyota 4Runner
Looks like you will need a SIM card for anything that requires data.

it's an android device, google maps needs internet to work the same as your phone. you'll need to hotspot from your phone or get a sim card for the device. once you are on wifi or get a sim card you should be able to save areas for offline in google maps
can you download and run CPU Z or a similar app to check what processor and SoC it has
what version of android is it running?

Mind if I ask what you don't like or care for about the T8?

here is a recently posted video on this unit. not really professional video, and doesn't really go into all the features, but is helpful in showing unit response time.

Received the T9 yesterday. Tried the T8 which was ok but not quite there for me and had returned it. There are two problematic plugs to get connected into the head unit; they didn't design a large enough opening on the back of the head unit panel to accommodate retention clips on the two harness plugs. It was a beast to get them in. Again, ZERO instructions and the diagram sticker on the head unit isn't for the T9. Anyone can figure it out, but it adds time and frustration. The T9 feels more snappy than the T8 and music over Bluetooth is seemingly better. The issue I have now is Wifi, Bluetooth tether, and SIM data are all gimped or broken on my unit. Bluetooth has ~0.35 Mbps down/upload. SIM I can't recall exactly but was similar. Wifi was down 15 Mbps and 0.00 Mbps upload (or simply error out), making it totally unusable. Data was much better on the T8 I had tried so I'm hoping this can be resolved. If they can fix it (e.g. point out a setting to change) or send me a better unit then I think I'll stay with the T9.
Confirmed I saw android 8.1 but connectivity is so borked I can't be bothered to download cpuz right now for other specs.
edit: I didn't test Android Auto because I didn't see it installed. I'll explore that if I get the connectivity sorted.
Update: They're going to send out a new unit. If anything customer service is consistently accessible and reasonable.
