Hey all, first post here but a long time member on the Taco and FJ forums...
The FJ's are known for stretched and snapped wheel studs - I've had to have a few replaced myself, and one very prominent member (FJoel) had all 6 shear off while driving even! He is a machinist and sells ARP wheel studs that he shortens to the correct length for the FJ (ARP doesn't make a direct replacement). I would suspect that the same is true for the 4R, since it's pretty much the same chassis - cheap Chinese pot metal I'd guess.
Also, just FYI, Toyota's torque spec when you have aluminum wheels is 76 ft - lbs. I've learned to rotate myself and check torque every time I check air pressure, which is often.
Cheers, nice community you've all got here!
