Installed the WT in-channel this morning (2017 Limited pearl white). Very simple; even an Alaskan can do it. Took 20 minutes once they were out of the box. Hardest thing was pushing the start button just right to get the power to the windows and not start the truck, so I could go around to each window while testing. My real use is to crack the windows a little when parked in 22-hour sunlight. Probably wont open them when driving.
Notes
1. Fronts go in very easily. The furthest back vertical edge is initially a tight fit. I used a kitchen spatula to push it outwards. Two or three times up and down, and they work fine and do not trigger the auto-stop on the windows.
2. Backs go in easily. Wipe the channel with a cleaner (alcohol pad), and it will come out black and dirty. It is not felt, it is rubber, so adhesion should be good. I added a small strip of thin double sided tape to the edge that has none. Duct brand blue double sided duct tape, trim to fit. After the tape sets for a day, I will test them a few times to see if they pull out or trigger the auto stop.
3. On all four windows, roll them up half way and clean the top edges. We live on a dirt road, and the windows look clean, but the top 1/2 inch was brown.
4. All four make a cracking sound the first time. I pulled them back out and saw no cracks or chips, just the sound once.
5. I think the edge that goes in the channel should be shorter, so that there is no gap at all where the top meets the rubber. There is just a little bit between the top curve of the vent and the rubber trim (1/8 inch), but the visors are all the way up.
6. Everything went smoothly while testing at 60 degrees. We'll see how they function when hot and when below zero.
7. Shipping costs to Alaska stink...but it got here in two days (cheapest option).
